La Val Comelico e la Valle di Sappada si trovano all’estremo nord est della provincia
di Belluno. L’area è attraversata da numerosi corsi d’acqua, primo fra tutti il Piave, le
cui sorgenti si trovano in Val Sesis, ai piedi del monte Peralba, a quota 1.830 m. Gli
amanti dello sci troveranno a Sappada complessivamente 20 km di piste di discesa,
con vari gradi di difficoltà: campi scuola per principianti e bambini, piste più ripide e
tecniche per i più allenati. Le piste sono tutte velocemente raggiungibili dal centro del
paese, con un servizio gratuito di ski-bus per i collegamenti tra i diversi impianti. Una
divertente novità: un trenino che collega la nuova pista Pian dei Nidi con la Eiben-Col
dei Mughi e un servizio navetta che collega la stessa Pian dei Nidi con Sappada 2000.
In Val Comelico, a Padola, vi sono 12 km di piste da discesa, con una modernissima
seggiovia quadriposto ed un campo scuola ampio e soleggiato per i principianti. Vasta
anche la scelta per gli appassionati di sci nordico, sia in Val Comelico che a Sappada,
con oltre 52 km di piste preferite dai pluricampioni mondiali ed olimpici Maurilio De
Zolt, Silvio Fauner e Pietro Piller Cottrer.
OLTRE LO SCI
Interessanti gli itinerari per sci escursionismo e motoslitta, in particolare nell’area delle
sorgenti del Piave e in quella tra Campolongo e Passo Digola, così come le proposte
di arrampicata su ghiaccio alle Cascate dell’Acquatona (200 m di altezza) ed allo
“Specchio di Biancaneve”, sotto il Passo Siera (280 m). Ed ancora: passeggiate con le
ciaspe, sleddog, snow-tubing, gite su slitta trainata da cavalli, pattinaggio su ghiaccio.
E per finire tutti a rilassarsi nelle acque benefiche delle Terme delle Dolomiti.
BAMBINI
Per i più piccini un attrezzato parco giochi invernale è disponibile a Santo Stefano
di Cadore. A Padola i bambini imparano a sciare divertendosi con i maestri di sci in
appositi spazi attrezzati con strutture ludico-ricreative. A Sappada è “tappa d’obbligo”
il parco giochi Nevelandia che, con i suoi 70.000 mq di estensione, costituisce il più
esteso parco giochi sulla neve del Nordest. I bambini possono giocare in tutta sicurezza
sotto il controllo del personale del Parco, professionale e divertente, utilizzando i 5
tapis roulant per facilitare lo spostamento tra i giochi.
IL CARNEVALE
Il Comelico è ricco di tradizioni, di artigianato, di folklore. Di grande interesse sono
le maschere di legno eseguite dagli scultori locali: Maschere “da Bel” e Maschere
“da Veciu”, secondo il classico contrasto che caratterizza l’evento, il cui protagonista
principale è l’allegro e coloratissimo “Matazìn”. Anche nella tradizione sappadina il
Carnevale (Plodar Wosenocht) rappresenta un momento importantissimo: esso si
svolge in un lungo arco di tempo, scandito dalle tre Domeniche dedicate ai Poveri,
Contadini e Signori, oltre al Lunedì dedicato alla sfilata dei Rollate, la maschera tipica
locale, l’uomo orso che accompagna e guida tutti i festeggiamenti. A completare le
giornate, il Martedì Grasso con il tradizionale No Club, mascherata sciatoria presso
Nevelandia.
The Val Comelico and the Sappada Valley lie at the far north east of the province of
Belluno. There are a large number of waterways in the area, the largest being the River
Piave, which originates in the Val Sesis, at the foot of Monte Peralba, at an altitude of
1830 m. Skiers will find a total of 20 km of downhill slopes in Sappada, with something
for everyone, whatever their skills: from ski schools for beginners and children to steeper
and more technically challenging slopes for the more experienced. All of the slopes are
within quick, easy reach of the centre of Sappada, with a free skibus service linking the
various ski lifts. A fun new addition to these services: a little train that runs between the
new Pian dei Nidi slope, and a shuttle service connecting Pian dei Nidi with Sappada 2000.
In Padola, in Val Comelico, there are 12 km of downhill slopes, with a state-of-the-art,
four-person chairlift and a large, sunny ski school for beginners. Cross-country skiers
will not be disappointed here either, because there are a huge variety of trails to enjoy
in both Comelico and Sappada, totalling over 52 km and firm favourites with the World
and Olympic champions Maurilio De Zolt, from Comelico, and Silvio Fauner and Pietro
Piller Cottrer.
MORE THAN JUST SKIING
Interesting ski touring and motor sledge routes can be found here, in particular in the
area around the Piave springs and the area between Campolongo and the Digola Pass.
Another attractive option is ice-climbing up the Acquatona Falls (200 m high) and the
“Specchio di Biancaneve“ (Snow-White’s Mirror), under the Siera Pass (280 m.). And then
of course there are trips on “ciaspe” snow-shoes, sleddog trips, snow-tubing, trips by
horse-drawn sledge and ice-skating. And to round it all off, a relaxing soak in the healing
waters of the Terme delle Dolomiti spa area.

FOR THE KIDS
Younger visitors will have fun in the well-equipped winter play park in Santo Stefano di
Cadore. In Padola, children can learn to ski and have fun at the same time, with qualified
ski instructors in areas equipped for both learning and play. In Sappada they should not
miss out on a visit to the 70,000 square metres of Nevelandia, the largest snow park in
north-eastern Italy. Here, the kids can play and have fun in complete safety, under the
trained, professional eye of the Park’s staff, and move easily from one attraction to the
next using the 5 tapis-roulants.

CARNIVAL
The Comelico boasts a rich craft and folk tradition. Especially fascinating are the wooden
masks sculpted by local craftsmen and representing young, attractive figures (“da Bel”) or
old, wizened characters (“da Veciu”), in accordance with the idea of contrast which typifies
the event, and the star of the show is the cheerful, colourful “Matazin”.
Carnival (known locally as Plodar Wosenocht) is also a high point on the calendar in
Sappada, with the celebrations taking place over three Sundays - Poor Sunday, Peasant
Sunday and Noble Sunday - and Carnival Monday, devoted to the parade of the Rollate,
the typical local masked character, half-man, half-bear, who leads all the celebrations. The
Sappada Carnival comes to a close on Shrove Tuesday, with the traditional No Club, a
masked parade on skis that takes place at Nevelandia.
Das Comelico Tal und die Region Bladen (Valle di Sappada) liegen im Nordosten der
Provinz Belluno. In diesem Gebiet gibt es zahlreiche Wasserläufe; der wichtigste ist der
Fluss Piave, der im Sesis Tal am Fuß des Hochweißsteins (Monte Peralba) auf 1.830 m
Seehöhe entspringt. Für Schiläufer gibt es in Bladen 20 km unterschiedlich schwierige
Pisten: Schischulwiesen für Kinder und Anfänger und steilere und technisch anspruchsvollere
Pisten für erfahrene Schiläufer. Die Pisten und Liftanlagen sind vom Ortszentrum
aus problemlos mit einem kostenlosen Schibus erreichbar. Für die nächste Saison ist
eine lustige Neuigkeit geplant: ein Bimmelzug bringt von der neuen Piste Pian dei Nidi zur
Eiben-Col dei Mughi und ein Schibus verbindet dann Pian dei Nidi mit Sappada 2000.
Im Comelico Tal, und genauer in Padola, gibt es 12 km Pisten mit einem modernen 4er-
Sessellift und eine große und sonnige Schischulwiese für Anfänger. Das Comelico Tal und
Bladen haben auch Langläufern einiges zu bieten, mit mehr als 52 km Loipen, auf denen
unter anderem die mehrfachen Olympiameister Maurilio De Zolt, Silvio Fauner und Pietro
Piller Cottrer trainieren.
NICHT NUR SCHILAUF
Sehr interessant sind die Routen für Schiwanderungen und Motorschlittenfahrten, vor allem
im Gebiet der Piavequellen (Sorgenti del Piave) und in der Region zwischen Campolongo
und dem Digola Pass, so wie auch die Iceclimbingwände auf dem Acquatona Wasserfall
(200 m hoch) und auf dem „Specchio di Biancaneve“ (Schneewittchens Spiegel) unter
dem Siera Pass (280 m). Und dann noch: Schneeschuhwanderungen, Sleddog, Snowtubing,
Pferdeschlittenfahrten, Eislauf. Und zum Entspannen empfehlen wir einen Besuch
im Thermalbad Dolomiti.
KINDER
Für Kinder gibt es einen Winterspielplatz in Santo Stefano di Cadore.In Padola lernen die
Kinder unter Aufsicht der Schilehrer auf ganz spielerische Weise schilaufen und können
sich auf den eigens für sie ausgestatteten Arealen vergnügen. Ein „Muss“ in Bladen ist
der Spielpark Nevelandia, der mit einer Fläche von 70.000 Quadratmetern der größte
Winderspielplatz in Nordostitalien ist. Dort haben die Kinder unter Aufsicht ausgebildeter
Betreuer viel Spaß, und um schneller von einem Spiel zum anderen zu gelangen, können
sie 5 Rollteppiche benutzen.
DER FASCHING
Die Region Comelico ist reich an Tradition, Handwerk und Brauchtum. Besonders
interessant sind die von den heimischen Bildhauern gefertigten Masken aus Holz: die
Masken „da Bel“ und „da Veciu“ bilden dabei die Kontraste, der Hauptdarsteller ist
und bleibt aber der fröhliche und bunte „Matazìn“. Für das Bladener Brauchtum ist der
Fasching (Plodar Wosenocht) ein besonders wichtiges Fest: er dauert viele Tage lang, mit
dem Sonntag der Armen, dem Sonntag der Bauern und dem Sonntag der Herren und
natürlich dem Faschingsmontag mit dem Umzug der „Rollate“, einer typischen Maske,
halb Mensch, halb Bär, die alle Faschingsfeiern begleitet. Am Faschingsdienstag findet
im Winterpark Nevelandia der traditionelle NoClub statt, ein Faschingsumzug auf Schiern.

Questa splendida area delle Dolomiti Bellunesi riconosciute dall’Unesco patrimonio
dell’umanità è il luogo ideale per una vacanza estiva all’insegna della tranquillità, a contatto
con una natura meravigliosa e una popolazione nota per la sua peculiare ospitalità.
Sei sono i comuni che costituiscono la Comunità Montana di Comelico e Sappada,
ma le due zone, pur essendo confinanti e pur presentando tratti di omogeneità, sono
ben distinte tra loro sia sotto il profilo geografico che sotto quello storico e culturale,
come testimonia innanzitutto la lingua parlata dagli abitanti: nel Comelico si parla la
lingua ladina, mentre Sappada è un’isola germanofona sorta intorno all’anno Mille da
insediamenti di gruppi provenienti da Tirolo e Carinzia.
PASSEGGIATE E RELAX
Da Sappada e da ogni paese della Val Comelico partono innumerevoli passeggiate
che, costeggiando torrenti e ruscelli, si addentrano nei magnifici boschi di abeti gestiti
dalle millenarie comunioni familiari. Numerosi i luogni da visitare: in Val Sesis, ai piedi
del Monte Peralba, le Sorgenti del Piave costituiscono una magnifica area di interesse
storico e naturalistico, meta ideale per tranquille passeggiate nel verde. Il Monte Zovo,
splendido punto panoramico, con l’amena Val Vissada; la Val Digon con le creste di
confine tra Italia e Austria; i piani di Danta con l’oasi naturalistica delle Torbiere; l’Alta
Val Comelico con Valgrande, dove sorgno le terme più alte d’Italia.
Altro paradiso per grandi e piccini è la Val Visdende, dal latino vallis videnda ovvero
“valle che merita di essere vista”, oasi incontaminata coperta da oltre 6.000 ettari di
foreste di conifere e ricca di flora e fauna alpina.
ESCURSIONI
La Val Comelico e Sappada offrono una grande varietà di escursioni ad ogni livello di
difficoltà, sia per famiglie che per escursionisti esperti. Fra le mete classiche: il gruppo
del Monte Popera sulle Dolomiti di Sesto e del Comelico; il monte Peralba, al confine
con l’Austria; i Laghi d’Olbe, area naturalistica di grande interesse che si sviluppa a
quota 2.160 m, parte dell’Alta Via n. 6 anche detta “dei Silenzi”; il gruppo delle Terze e
dei Clap con i numerosi laghetti alpini, i rifugi e le malghe. In Val Visdende e Valgrande
si organizzano escursioni guidate a piedi, in mountain bike ed a cavallo, particolarmente
amate dai giovanissimi; mentre la “Strada delle Malghe”, percorso in quota all’insegna
della tradizione, vi conduce alla scoperta dei pascoli e della mungitura.
GASTRONOMIA E PRODOTTI TIPICI
La Val Comelico è famosa per: “casanzei”, “kneli”, “mos”, “pastin” di capriolo e minestra
d’orzo; ottimi i liquori aromatizzati ai funghi, mirtilli, more, fragole di bosco e radici
aromatiche. La cucina tipica di “Plodn” affonda le radici nel passato, negli ingredienti un
tempo prodotti in loco: nei condimenti si privilegia il burro fuso rispetto all’olio, salumi e
formaggi affumicati anziché quelli conservati col sale. Caratteristico l’utilizzo dei semi di
papavero, in pietanze dolci come i “Mogn Kropfn”, frittelle ripiene di semi e spolverate
di zucchero, ma anche salate: tipici i “Gepichta Kropfn”, gustosissimi ravioli alle erbe.
Una particolarità è la ricotta acida, “Saurn Schotte”, insaporita con erbe aromatiche.
Numerosi i piatti a base di selvaggina, accompagnata dalla polenta o servita con marmellate
di frutti di bosco.
This splendid area of the Belluno Dolomites, awarded World Heritage status by Unesco,
is the ideal place to spend a peaceful, relaxing summer holiday in close contact with nature
and a local population known for their original sense of hospitality. Six municipalities form the
Comunità Montana of Comelico and Sappada, but the two areas, although they lie next to
each other and are similar in many ways, have a quite distinct and separate geographical,
historical and cultural identity. This is evident in the language spoken by the inhabitants: the
Comelico is a Ladin area, whilst Sappada is a German-speaking enclave, created around the
end of the first millennium by groups from the Tyrol and Carinthia areas who settled there.
RELAXING WALKS
From Sappada and from every village in the Val Comelico, a whole host of walking routes set
out that run alongside mountain streams and brooks and through the magnificent forests of
fir trees under the control of the same family clan for thousands of years. There are plenty of
options: the Piave Springs in the Val Sesis, at the foot of Monte Peralba, a magnificent area
of great historical and naturalistic interest, ideal for relaxing walks in the greenery; Monte
Zovo, which offers splendid views of the lovely Val Vissada; the Val Digon, with the ridges
that mark the border between Italy and Austria; the Piani di Danta, with the peat-bogs of
the Torbiere nature reserve, or the Upper Val Comelico, where you can find Italy’s highest
spa area, at Valgrande. Another paradise for young and old is the Val Visdende, whose
name comes from the Latin “vallis videnda”, or “the valley which deserves to be seen”, an
unspoilt natural area covered with over 6,000 hectares of conifer forest and boasting a rich
variety of alpine flora and fauna.

HIKING AND WALKING ROUTES
The Val Comelico and Sappada offer a large variety of walking routes of all levels of difficulty,
for both families with children and experienced hikers. Among the classic destinations for
hikers are the Monte Popera group in the Sesto Dolomites and Comelico; Monte Peralba,
on the border with Austria; the Olbe Lakes, an extremely interesting nature area at an
altitude of 2160 m which forms part of the High Altitude Trail number 6, Alta Via dei Silenzi;
the Terze and Clap groups, with their numerous little alpine lakes; the refuges and the
malghe. In Val Visdende and Valgrande, guided walking, mountain bike and horse-riding

tours are organised, which are particularly popular with younger visitors; while the Strada
delle Malghe (mountain dairy huts route) is a high-altitude trail along which visitors can find
out about traditional cattle-rearing and milking.
TYPICAL CUISINE AND FOOD PRODUCTS
The Val Comelico is famous for casanzei (a kind of ravioli), kneli (savoury dumplings), mos (a
kind of polenta), pastin di capriolo (made with roe-deer meat), and minestra d’orzo (barley
soup). There are also some excellent liqueurs, flavoured with mushrooms, blueberries,
blackcurrants, wild strawberries and aromatic roots. Typical “Plodn” cuisine has ancient
origins and is based on ingredients that were once grown or made locally: melted butter
is more commonly used than oil and smoked cheese and meats are more common than
cheese and meat preserved with salt. Poppy seeds are widely used in local dishes, in sweets
such as Mogn Kropfn - fritters filled with poppy seeds and sprinkled with sugar - and also
in savoury dishes such as the typical Gepichta Kropfn, delicious ravioli filled with herbs. A
particular local delicacy is the sour ricotta, or Saurn Schotte, seasoned with aromatic herbs.

Diese wunderschöne Region der Bellunesischen Dolomiten wurde von der Unesco
zum Welterbe erklärt und ist ein idealer Sommerurlaubsort, in dem man Ruhe findet, die
herrliche Natur genießen und sich von der sprichwörtlichen Gastfreundschaft der Leute
verwöhnen lassen kann. Die Berggemeinschaft Comelico und Sappada besteht aus sechs
Gemeinden, die beiden Regionen sind aber trotz vieler Gemeinsamkeiten ganz unterschiedlich,
sowohl aus geographischer Sicht als auch aus geschichtlicher und kultureller – was
vor allem durch die Mundarten sehr klar zum Ausdruck kommt: in Comelico wird Ladinisch
gesprochen, Sappada (Bladen) hingegen ist eine germanische Sprachinsel, deren Wurzeln
auf das Jahr 1000 zurück reichen, als sich hier Familien aus Tirol und Kärnten ansiedelten.
SPAZIERGÄNGE UND RELAX
In Sappada und allen Ortschaften im Comelico Tal gibt es unzählige Spazierwege. Sie
führen die Bäche entlang und durch herrliche Tannenwälder, die noch heute von den
tausend Jahre alten Familienverbänden verwaltet werden. Besonders zu empfehlen sind:
das Sesis Tal, am Fuß des Hochweißsteins, mit den Quellen der Piave. Diese Zone ist ein
ideales Spaziergebiet und wartet mit einer hochinteressanten Geschichte und herrlichen
Landschaft auf. Der Monte Zovo, ein einmaliger Panoramapunkt, mit dem bezaubernden
Vissada Tal; das Digon Tal mit den Bergkämmen, die die Grenze zwischen Italien und
Österreich bilden; die Hochebenen Danta mit der Naturoase Torbiere; das Hohe Comelico
Tal mit der Ortschaft Valgrande, wo das höchstgelegene Thermalbad Italiens steht.
Ein anderes Paradies für Groß und Klein ist das Visdende Tal; der Name kommt vom
lateinischen vallis vicenda, das heißt „sehenswertes Tal”. Die Zone ist eine unberührte
Naturoase mit 6.000 Hektar Nadelwald und einer reichen alpinen Flora und Fauna.
WANDERUNGEN
Im Comelico Tal und in Sappada gibt es viele unterschiedlich schwierige Wanderrouten,
die ideal für Familien aber auch für erfahrene Bergsteiger sind. Zu den klassischen Zielen
zählen: die Popera Gruppe in den Sextener Dolomiten und Comelico; der Hochweißstein
(Monte Peralba) an der Grenze zu Österreich; das hochinteressante Bergseegebiet Laghi
d‘Olbe auf 2.160 m Seehöhe, durch das der Dolomitenhöhenweg Nr. 6 („Höhenweg der
Stille“) führt; die Terze und Clap Gruppe mit ihren zahlreichen Bergseen, Hütten und Almen.
Im Visdende Tal und in Valgrande werden außerdem geführte Wanderungen, Reittouren
und Mountainbiketouren organisiert, die vor allem beim jüngeren Publikum sehr beliebt
sind; und auf der „Almstrasse“, einer Bergroute auf den Spuren der heimischen Tradition,
kommt man zu Hochweiden und Almen.
KULINARISCHES UND HEIMISCHE PRODUKTE
Das Comelico Tal ist berühmt für seine „Casanzei“, „Kneli“, „Mos“, Wild-„Pastin“,
seine Gerstensuppe und für seine ausgezeichneten Liköre mit Pilzen, Heidelbeeren,
Brombeeren, Walderdbeeren und Waldwurzeln. Die Ursprünge der „Plodner Küche“
reichen weit in die Vergangenheit zurück, und die Zutaten sind heute noch die von einst:
man verwendet anstatt von Öl lieber Butter, und Wurst und Käse werden geräuchert,
und nicht mit Salz konserviert. Besonders gern wird Mohn verwendet, bei Süßspeisen
wie den „Mogn Kropfn”, aber auch bei Hauptgerichten: z. B. bei den ausgezeichneten
„Gepichta Kropfn” (Teigtaschen mit Kräuterfüllung). In der Region wird außerdem gerne
mit Sauerrahm gekocht, hier „Saurn Schotte” genannt. Weitere Spezialitäten sind
Wildgerichte mit Polenta und Preiselbeermarmelade.

Il Marchio di qualità delle imprese alberghiere è una
associazione volontaria di esercizi che fornisce ai clienti,
attraverso una segnaletica appropriata, una valutazione
obiettiva del livello di servizio offerto.
RECLAMI
I turisti che riscontrano carenze nella gestione o nelle
strutture, o ai quali sono state richieste tariffe difformi da
quelle risultanti dalla tabella prezzi esposta nel locale di
ricevimento dell’albergo, possono presentare documentato
reclamo entro trenta giorni dall’evento a:

Every hotel listing includes the following information: the name,
classification with number of stars varying from 5 to 1, address,
the number of rooms, beds and baths. The tourist hotel residences
are marked by letters RTA next to the name.
The standard symbols used for amenities and services of the
hotels are illustrated in the legenda. Where the symbol “ACCESS
WITH GUIDE” appears, it is advisable to call the hotel keeper for
specific needs. In accordance with the modifications to the regional
regulations and while awaiting the pertinent operational indications,
the information regarding ACCESSIBILITY to the accommodation
facilities refers to October 2008.
The quality trade-mark of the hotel business is a voluntary
association of hotel management that provides the guests, by an
appropriate sign, an objective evaluation of the service level offered.
CLAIMS
Should visitors find any reason for complaint regarding
the management or premises, or should the charges requested
differ from those that figure in the table of prices displayed in
the reception, they should document their claim for redress and
send it, within 30 days of the incident, to the following address:

Für jeden Hotelbetrieb wird folgendes angegeben: der Hotelname,
die betreffende Einstufung mit Angabe der Sterne, die von eins
bis fünf variieren können, di Adresse, die Anzahl der Zimmer, der
Betten und der Badezimmer; die touristischen Apartmenthotel
sind mit der Abkürzung RTA neben dem Namen gekennzeichnet.
Die herkömmlichen Symbole für die seitens der Hotelbetriebe
gebotenen Ausstattung und Serviceleistungen werden in der
Legende illustriert. Wird das Symbol „MIT BEGLEITUNG
ZUGÄNGLICH“ angegeben, wird empfohlen, sich telefonisch mit
dem Hotelführer in Verbindung zu setzen, um so die persönlichen
Anförderungen abklären zu können. Die Zugänglichkeitsreglungen
nach den Normen aus dem Jahr 2008 bleiben gültig bis zum
Inkrafttreten der neuen regionalen Bestimmunge.

Gütezeichen dem Kunden eine objektive Wertung des Angebotes
ermöglichen.
REKLAMATIONEN
Gäste, die Beanstandungen vorzutragen haben oder denen Tarife
verrechnet wurden, die nicht mit der im Hotel ausgehängten Preisliste
übereinstimmen, können mit Vorlage von Beweisen innerhalb
von 30 Tagen bei folgendem Amt eine Reklamation einreichen:
