buffaloes and goats were given vaccination against
the dreaded foot & mouth diseases Dr. Pathak and
his team members also gave valuable suggestions
to the owners of the cattle regarding protection of
their livestock from various diseases. The villagers
present at both the locations appreciated the effort
of the Parishad and requested them to conduct such
camps regularly.
Abhayapuri : Branch organised a day long
artificial limb fitting camp on 12 th May 2013 for
disabled persons whose measurements were taken
earlier on 17 th March 2013 at Ganesh Mandir High
School premises, Lalmati, Duramai. Technicians
from Prant's Archana Vikalang Kendra, (a Centre
for help and rehabilitation of Physically Challenged
at Guwahati), Shri Vidyadhar Choudhury, who himself
is a handicap person, conducted the camp. Aritificial
foot, calipers were given free of cost to 9 needy
persons. Shri A. Saran Executive Director, Indian
Oil Corporation, Bongaigaon Refinery, Smt. Archana
Saran, a teacher and social activist, Shri K.C. Jain
State President, Shri Baru Sen, General Secretary
and others attended the camp.
UTTRAKHAND WEST
Greater (Dehradun) : A health camp was held
at Mathrowala -Kedarpuram along with Intellectual
and Technocrats Guild of India with the support of
National Institute of the Visually handicapped. Vice
Chancellor of Uttrakhand University Prof S.P. Mishra
was the chief guest. Patients from the surrounding
areas and bastis availed the facilities provided by
the doctors and consultants (under the guidance of

team head Dr Lakhera ) from NIVH and Mahant
Indresh hospital in the areas of ENT , orthopaedics,
and eye specialists. Spectacles, wheel chairs,
walking sticks, crutches etc were provided free of
cost to the needy. NCC cadets under the aegis of
All India Women's Conference Youth Affairs rendered
their assistance and learned to participate and serve
society.
Dehradun Greater along with the National
Institute of the Visually handicapped organized a
camp for the physically challenged persons at
harrawalla railway station Dehradun. The team from
NIVH consituted National Awardee Dr. Lakhera -
R.O, Speech therapist and psychologist Dr. Vijay
Kumar, Eye Specialist Dr. Govil. Office bearers &
members worked hard to make this camp a big
success. More than four hundred consultancies were
given to the hearing, mentally, physically and
visually impaired. Three wheel chairs, twelve pair
of crutches, eighty nine hearing aids, twenty walking
sticks, 379 pairs of spects, three tricycles were
distributed free.
