KARNATAKA SOUTH
Prant conducted a workshop for the Office
Bearers of shakhas elected for the year 2013-14
on 23 rd June 2013. Shri Kova S. Revanna, Prant
President presided. The workshop was inaugurated
by Sh. K.G. Subbarama Setty, Zonal Patron. He
also released the office bearers Diary. In the post
lunch session various projects like viklang sahayata,
NGSC/NSGSC, BKJ, GVCA, membership drive,
shakha development, medical camps, adoption of
schools, youth camps etc. were dealt with by the
experts in the respective fields. The audience was
in for a pleasant surprise when National Vice
President Shri B.Ch. V. (Aswini) Subbarao and
National Addn'l Secretary General Dr. V. Shankar
attended and addressed the gathering.
Vidyaranya, Bangalore : Note books were
distributed to more than 1100 students of Govt.
Primary & High School, Marenahalli, Vidyaranya
Education Society, R.P.C. Layout, and Universal
High School, Mahalakshmi Layout on 14th & 15 th
June 2013.
ASSAM
Karimganj : 13 th Annual general meeting of
the branch was held on 17 th May 2013 at Vivekanand
College of Education. Branch President welcomed
the house. Secretary Shri Nepal Krishna Dhar read
out the activities report for the year 2012-13. The
President administered oath to the members. A
cultural programme was also arranged. Kits were
presented to members and distinguished guests.
PUNJAB EAST
Chandigarh South-II : Organised chhabeel
on 23.06.2013 at Sector-45 to pay homage to the
people who died in Uttrakhand natural disaster.
Manimajra : A candle march procession was
taken out in Manimajra Main market to
commemorate the memory of the deceased of
Uttranchal tragedy. About 200 members of the
branch participated in this procession which started
from samadhi gate, then passed through main bazar,
old NAC road, bus stand and finished at old Ropar
road. This march was flagged off by Swami
Gaurishwaranand Puri from Vivekanand Yog Centre.
Dhuri : Branch organized a jal jeera & sweet
water chhabeel at Mahavir Mandir under the
supervision of President Sh. Ravinder Bansal and

Patran : Branch organised a blood donation
camp on 17.05.2013 in Durga Lal Hospital with the
help of Alliance Club where 70 units of blood was
donated. Sh. Parveen Kr. President Aarthia
Association Patran inaugurated the camp.
Nabha : Branch distributed 6 types of
stationary items on 29 th & 30 th May 2013 to 235
students of 8 sanskar kendras being run by Sewa
Bharti where poor children from Govt. Schools are
imparted education. Some items were donated by
Mrs. Asha Goyal w/o Dr. Yash Pal Goyal on the
occasion of Birth of his grandson. A large gathering
witnessed this laudable event.
Sirhind Mandi Fatehgarh Sahib : Under
shiksha kosh project provided free bags and 1000
note books to 215 students of Govt. elementary
school Brahman Majra. Chief guest Sh. Sanjiv
Rabra Administrative Officer of PUDA Punjab
donated Rs. 11000/- for this noble cause. 35

members were present. Installed a water cooler at
the same school adopted by the branch under
shikhsa kosh project, where the students belong
to very needy and poor community. Chief guest
Sh. Ashwani Sharma inaugurated it and also helped
in terms of funds. 20 members were present. Under
sampark sutra branch initiated birthday
celebrations of its members giving best wishes
and honouring with a memento.
PUNJAB NORTH
Vivekanand Sujanpur : A meeting was held
under the presidentship of Anuj Mahajan. Members
decided to open cloth bank on 10 July for poor
