Italienisches Institut für Außenhandel – ICE 

Das Italienische Institut für Außenhandel, I.C.E., ist eine staatliche Einrichtung zur Förderung, 

Unterstützung und Entwicklung des italienischen Außenhandels. Seine Aufgabe ist es, die 

Internationalisierung italienischer Unternehmen sowie deren Konsolidierung auf den jeweiligen 

Auslandsmärkten zu unterstützen. Die Zentrale des I.C.E. ist in Rom. Es verfügt über 16 

Außenstellen in Italien und 77 Büros weltweit. Das I.C.E. Düsseldorf betreut in Deutschland 

unter anderem den Bereich Musikinstrumente und organisiert nun zum zweiten Mal eine 

Gemeinschaftsbeteiligung auf der Musikmesse. Auf 400 m 2 Fläche in Halle 3.1 Stand G 51 

werden 31 italienische Hersteller traditioneller Musikinstrumente vorgestellt. 

Italian Trade Commission 

The Italian Trade Commission, I.C.E., is a governmental institution for the promotion, support 

and development of the Italian foreign trade. Its task consists in fostering the internationalization 

of Italian enterprises and their consolidation on foreign markets. The headquarter is 

in Rome. 16 offices are spread allover Italy and 77 offices allover the world. The I.C.E. in 

Düsseldorf is responsable among others for musical instruments. For the second time it has 

organized a participation on the Musikmesse: 31 Italian producers of traditional acoustic 

instruments are presenting their products on 400 m 2 in hall 3.1. booth G 51.

Der Verband der italienischen Hersteller von Musikinstrumenten, kurz A.C.I.S.A., wurde 1997 

in Perugia gegründet. Ziel der Verbandstätigkeit ist es, die Vielfältigkeit und die 

Besonderheiten der italienischen Musikinstrumente auf internationaler Ebene bekannt zu 

machen und aktiv zu fördern. Besonderheiten, die auf den traditionellen Fähigkeiten der 

italienischen Handwerkskunst in diesem Sektor beruhen und alle Produktgruppen umfassen: 

Streich-, Blas-, Schlaginstrumente, mechanische Orgeln, Harfen und viele andere. 

Association of the Italian Producers of Musical Instruments 

The Association of the Italian Producers of Musical Instruments, A.C.I.S.A., has been founded 

in 1997 in Perugia. Main objective of the Association’s activities is the international 

promotion of the multifariousness and the peculiarities of the Italian musical instruments. 

Peculiarities which are based on the traditional capabilities of the Italian handicraft skills in 

this area and which include all the families of instruments: stringed, woodwind and brass, 

percussion instruments, mechanical organs, harps and many others.

Die Handelskammer Ancona hat eigens für die Förderung und Unterstützung des Internationaliierungsprozesses 

der Unternehmen dieser Region “Ancona Promuove” gegründet. „Ancona 

Promuove“ zeigt den ansässigen Unternehmen nicht nur das enorme Potential von spezifischen 

Auslandsmärkten auf, sondern unterstützt aktiv interessierte Unternehmen bei der Erschließung 

und Eroberung von neuen Absatzmärkten. Dies gilt insbesondere für die in dieser Provinz ansässigen 

Klein- und Mittelbetriebe. Zu den Aufgaben von „Ancona Promuove“ gehört die Organisation 

von Gemeinschaftsbeteiligungen auf internationalen Messen, Handelsreisen in Italien und im 

Ausland, Showrooms und PR-Veranstaltungen, Geschäftstreffen mit Partnern und Einkäufern aus 

dem Ausland, das Einrichten von virtuellen Instrumentarien als Treffpunkt zwischen Angebot und 

Nachfrage, die Leitung von Projekten, die sich speziell mit der Thematik Internationalisierung 

beschäftigen und Auslandsreisen mit dem Ziel der Markterkundung und -analyse. 

Ancona Promuove 

„Ancona Promuove“ is a new specialist department created by the Ancona Chamber of 

Commerce in order to promote, develop and sustain the process of internationalisation of the 

local companies. Ancona Promuove intends to provide initiatives that encourage and give 

impetus to small and medium sized production companies in the province. These will include 

collective participation in international exhibitions, the organisation of trade missions both in 

Italy and abroad, the creation of a show room, and the use of promotional events and meetings 

between overseas companies and buyers. They will also found a database system to ensure 

correct matching between demand and supply and provide the management for internationalisation 

projects and regular assessment of overseas markets. A priority for “Ancona Promuove” is to 

identify the major opportunities available in overseas countries for local companies and to 

provide concrete assistance to those firms interested in exploring and penetrating new overseas 

markets and new business opportunities with them.

Das Konsortium der Saiteninstrumenten- und Bogenhersteller “Antonio Stradivari” wurde 

1996 in Cremona gegründet und hat heute 60 Mitglieder. Ziel der konsortialen Tätigkeit ist die 

aktive Promotion der angeschlossenen Unternehmen weltweit, die klassische Traditionen mit 

modernen Fertigungsmöglichkeiten des Handwerks verbinden, um einzigartige Musikinstrumente, 

die übrigens seit kurzem mit einem vom Konsortium ausgestellten Qualitätssiegel 

versehen werden, herzustellen. Dieses Gütesiegel wird auf der Musikmesse vorgestellt. 

Das Konsortium fungiert als Mittler zwischen Herstellern und Musikern, gründete zu diesem 

Zweck 1997 das „Center der cremoneser Violinenfertigung“, organisiert Ausstellungen und 

zeichnet auch für die Realisierung der Kataloge verantwortlich. 

Consortium of Violin & Bow Makers „Antonio Stradivari“ Cremona 

The Consortium of Violin & Bow Makers Antonio Stradivari has been founded in 1996 

in Cremona and actually consists of 60 members. The main objective of the syndicate 

activities is the worldwide promotion of the member firms, which unite classical tradition 

with the modern violinmaking capabilities in order to construct unique musical instruments 

accompanied with a guarantee of quality, a trademark recently presented by the Consortium. 

This trademark will be presented in the occasion of the Musikmesse. 

The Consortium acts as a mediator between makers and musicians, founded in 1997, exactly 

for that reason, the Centre of Cremonese Violinmaking, organizes exhibitions and is even 

responsible for the production of the catalogues.

Die Region Marken ist gemessen an der Unternehmensdichte der bedeutendste 

Produktionsdistrikt im Bereich Musikinstrumente in der EU. In Italien werden allein 70% der 

nationalen Produktion in der Region Marken gefertigt. Diese Tatsache führte zur Gründung 

des Konsortiums Music Marche. Music Marche wurde 1998 gegründet und ist ein 

Zusammenschluss von 49 Unternehmen zum Schutz, der Förderung und der Entwicklung des 

Musikinstrumentenhandwerks der Region Marken in der internationalen Welt der Musik. Die 

Produktion umfasst klassische Instrumente, wie Akkordeons, Gitarren, Blas- und 

Tasteninstrumente, sowie elektronische Instrumente, wie u. a. Orgeln, Synthesizer, Schlagzeuge 

und Verstärkeranlagen. Music Marche ist Ansprechpartner für den nationalen und den 

internationalen Markt. Seine zunehmende Bedeutung wird zur Entwicklung eines 

Qualitätssiegels führen, das an die Mitgliedsfirmen vergeben wird.

Considering the density of the enterprises active in the production of musical instruments the 

Region Marche is the most important district in the EU in this area. 

In Italy the music sector in Marche accounts for 70% of the total national output. Size and 

importance of this sector resulted in the foundation (1998) of the Consortium Music Marche 

for the protection, the promotion and the development of hand-crafted quality musical 

instruments in Marche in the international world of music. In the acoustic sector Marche 

produces accordions, guitars, wind and keyboard instruments, in the electronic sector organs, 

synthesizers, drum machines and amplification systems. Music Marche is a mediator for 

the national and international market. Its raising status is leading to the development of a 

quality guarantee which will be assigned to the 49 member firms.

Die städtische Geigenbauerschule in Mailand wurde 1978 gegründet. Junge Menschen, die an 

der handwerklichen Kunst der Fertigung klassischer Musikinstrumente interessiert sind, 

werden hier in einem Handwerk ausgebildet, das in Italien auf eine lange Tradition 

zurückblickt. Die Lehrgänge gliedern sich in drei Fachgebiete: den Bau von Streichinstrumenten

Milan Municipal College for Stringed Instruments 

For many years the Civica Scuola di Liuteria di Milano (the Milan Municipal College 

for Stringed Instruments) has provided training for young people wishing to become 

professional lute makers, a profession of long established Italian tradition. Courses cover three 

disciplines: the manufacture of bow instruments (violins, violas and cellos), the manufacture 

of plucking instruments (guitars, lutes, mandolines) and their restoration. The training of lute 

makers is based on a close relationship with master craftmen in a workshop; a great amount 

of time is also dedicated to scientific and historical musical training.

Das Italienische Institut für Außenhandel – I.C.E., ist eine staatliche Einrichtung zur Förderung, 

Unterstützung und Entwicklung des italienischen Außenhandels. Seine Aufgabe ist es, die 

Internationalisierung italienischer Unternehmen – insbesondere kleinerer und mittlerer 

Betriebe - sowie deren Konsolidierung auf den Auslandsmärkten zu unterstützen. Die Tätigkeit 

des I.C.E. wird aus öffentlichen Mitteln, durch das Ministerium für Außenhandel und in geringerem 

Umfang auch durch die Unternehmen, die das Promotion- , Informations- und 

Serviceangebot des Instituts nutzen, finanziert. 

1. Marktinformationen 

Durch das dichte Netz der Auslandsniederlassungen und der kontinuierlichen Beobachtung 

der Märkte, der Warenströme und der Investitionstätigkeit sowie durch Aufbereitung von 

Daten, die ihm von nationalen und internationalen Einrichtungen wie der Banca d’Italia, ISTAT, 

der UNO, der Weltbanken und anderen zugeleitet werden, ist das I.C.E in der Lage, detaillierte 

und aktuelle Informationen über Auslandsmärkte zu liefern. 

2. Unterstützung beim Markteintritt und bei der Konsolidierung am Markt 

Marktanalysen (individuell zugeschnittene Studien, Bekanntgabe von Ausschreibungen, u. 

Angebotsanfragen, Produktrecherchen, usw.); Beratung und Unterstützung der Unternehmen 

(Suche geeigneter Geschäftspartner, Vereinbarung von Meetings, Bereitstellung von vertraulichen 

Informationen, Abwicklung gesetzl. Formalitäten, usw.); durch Unternehmenswerbung 

(Werbeprojekte, Präsentationen, Symposien, Pressekonferenzen, usw.) 

3. Werbung für das Made in Italy im Ausland 

Messen im Ausland, Werbekampagnen für Unternehmen, Konferenzen, Informationsveranstaltungen 

und andere Initiativen im Rahmen des Planes für Öffentlichkeitsarbeit: das I.C.E. 

trägt zum Ausbau der Geschäftsmöglichkeiten bei, unterstützt die Konsolidierung der 

Unternehmen am Markt, stärkt das Image des Made in Italy, fördert die gewerbliche 

Kooperation und ausländische Investitionen in Italien. 

4. Internationale Zusammenarbeit 

Das I.C.E. unterstützt italienische Unternehmen in ihren internationalen Kooperationsbemühungen, 

um so den Zugang zu Finanzierungsquellen internationaler Gremien zu erleichtern 

und den Abschluss von Joint Ventures und Partnerschaften auf dem Gebiet von Industrie 

und Technik zu fördern.

What´s I.C.E. 

I.C.E. (Italian Institute for Foreign Trade) is a public body with the task of promoting, 

facilitating and developing Italian commercial trade with other countries in the 

world, supporting the internationalisation of Italian firms and their consolidation in foreign 

markets. I.C.E. activities are financed by public funds with the Ministry for 

Foreign Trade providing both directives and supervision, and, to a lesser extent, by the same 

companies that use its promotional services in terms of advice, information and assistance. 

1. Getting to know the markets through I.C.E. information service 

The acquisition of information about markets and trading opportunities is the first step 

companies must take in order to select areas and forms of intervention abroad. I.C.E., with its 

network of offices all over the world, collects information through continuous 

monitoring of commercial flows and investments and processes data provided by Italian and 

international organisations, like the Bank of Italy, ISTAT, U.N. and the World Bank. 

2. To make inroads and take root in markets 

Market Analysis (personalised market research, information on surveys on products, etc.); 

Assistance and Operational Support (research on other parties, confidential information on 

potential partners’ reliability and solvency, setting up meetings with other selected parties, 

carrying out procedures according to local regulations); Company Promotion (advertising, 

company and product presentations, setting up symposia and press conferences). 

3. To be present in international markets with I.C.E. promotional activities 

Through international fairs, missions by exporters, congresses, communications and other 

initiatives in the Public Promotional Programme, I.C.E. increases business opportunities and 

supports companies taking root in markets, improves the image of the ‘Made in Italy’ brand 

and promotes industrial collaboration and foreign investments in Italy. 

4. Multilateral co-operation 

I.C.E. assists Italian companies in activities of international co-operation in order to facilitate 

access to financing by international Organisations and to stimulate joint-venture 

opportunities and industrial and technological partnerships.
