for, Cal finds out after a few days, in a shoebox hidden
at the bottom of a closet. A package still sealed that
his father had sent from Iraq thirty years earlier. Inside,
there is the obsession that has tormented adventurers
and emperors, the secret for which saints and charlatans
gave their lives, the threat that must remain buried, for
the good of the world. And now it’s up
to Cal to protect her. At any cost.
