PCB + ASSEMBLY PRODUCT

PCB + ASSEMBLY PRODUCT UPDATES Professional soldering systems for productivity and flexibility 16-18 May 2017 booth 4-125 CUBE Batch Our system for automation in the manual soldering area CUBE Inline The soldering system for highest flexibility and efficiency Special solutions We are a reliable partner when it comes to technical production challenges. INERTEC realises individual customer projects. Mounter for faster, more efficient electronics assembly Yamaha Motor IM Europe is to showcase the YSM40R ultra-high-speed modular surface mounter as part of its full line solution at SMT Hybrid Packaging 2017 in Nuremberg. The YSM40R’s 200,000 cph placement capability and area-efficient 1 m-wide outline frees OEMs and contract assemblers to increase capacity and maximize use of available space. Visitors can see the technical advances in head, feeder, camera and nozzle technologies – including high-speed motion and simultaneous multi-component visual recognition – that enable such extremely high productivity per square meter. Visitors to Nuremberg can see further powerful options for configuring fast and flexible SMT lines, including the high-efficiency modular YSM20 2-beam mounter and iPulse S10 and M20 hybrid mounters. The YSM20 features innovations including smart component-shape recognition and accuracy compensation. With the company’s efficient “1-head solution” concept and special design features for fast changeovers, YSM20 delivers market-leading productivity in the 90,000 cph class. The S10 and M20 hybrid mounters give the option of built-in adhesive dispensing, and have capacity for 90 or 180 feeders respectively. They can place components from tiny chips and CSPs to larger ICs and connectors on long boards such as large LED assemblies. The M20 accepts boards up to 1.48 meters long, allows multiple head choices to balance speed and precision, and can place odd-form components. Options and upgrades for the S10 3D mounter enable component placement on contoured or tilted boards, and Molded Interconnect Device (MID) assembly. From screen print to inspection In addition, the company will present advanced solutions, spanning high-speed highresolution screen-printing and visual inspection, and powerful software products that are affordable, easy to use, and take advantage of its unique inter-machine data structures. These empower operators to manage their activities for optimum efficiency, and provide deeper insights into equipment health and production status. The high-performance, compact equipment theme continues with the YCP10 screen printer. This features the company’s original swing-single-squeegee head with variable angle for ultimate efficiency and perfect paste transfer. Further features that boost productivity include easy-to-use graphical alignment, automatic stencil cleaning, and options, such as in-printer inspection and solder-roll measurement. Booth displays will also express how recent additions to the YSi-V AOI family greatly expand access to high-accuracy 3D optical inspection augmented by laser componentheight and coplanarity checking. 5M pixel and 12M pixel configurations with multi-angle/ multi-wavelength inspection, and the highspeed TypeHS variants that incorporate additional technologies to accelerate throughput, provide options to suit many budgets. Hot air technology station With the WTHA 1, Weller Tools GmbH is presenting the latest generation of hot air stations, boasting a power of 900 watts. The company’s WTHA 1 hot air station is the first model on the market to have a detailed LC display with self-explanatory user navigation for intuitive operability. The WTHA 1 is currently the best hot air station on the market in its price segment in terms of performance, ease of use and ergonomics. A built-in turbine produces up to 100 liters of hot air, and the new tandem control system with a dual sensor system ensures that this model performs twice as well as its predecessor. Clear menu structure The WTHA 1 hot air station is operated using five buttons on the front. A clear menu structure, which is easy to navigate, allows quick and easy access to all functions. The menu can be used to predefine up to five presets, allowing air quantity, temperature and time to be individually set and saved. The saved temperature profiles can be linked with each other and implemented successively via the profile mode. This protects the individual components while they are being worked, typically when used in rework pro- cesses. IPC standards are standard The WTHA 1 meets all of the current IPC standards and is particularly suited to demanding soldering tasks, for instance when a certain gradient has to be complied with in order to avoid damaging the components. „We focused on user-friendliness, high performance and ergonomics during development,“ explained Gert Mittmann, R&D Manager. User-friendliness The mains switch on the WTHA 1 is fitted to the front of the station, meaning that it is user-friendly and can be accessed conveniently. The handle of the hot air iron has an ergonomic shape and is equipped with a practical finger-operated activation switch. The 90 cm long, flexible silicone hose is heatresistant and has an outlet at the front to provide increased safety at the workplace. The hot air iron can be positioned in two orientations on the safety support, which can be installed on either side, therefore making the WTHA 1 ideally suited to one-handed soldering tasks too. In additional, an interface for an optional foot-operated switch and a Source: Weller Tools GmbH The WTHA 1, the latest generation of hot air stations, with a power of 900 watts. heat-resistant silicone pad as a storage option on the station (for tools or nozzles, for example) round off the station‘s ergonomic features. All stations in the WL line can be stacked on the WTHA 1 hot air station, therefore saving valuable space at the workplace. At a glance: • Integrated turbine for up to 100 liters of expanded hot air • Unique, detailed LC display • Intuitive user navigation and operability • Air quantity, temperature, and time can be individually saved in five presets • Ergonomic and saves space – ideal for a modern workplace SMT Hybrid Packaging, Booth 4-400 www.weller-tools.com EPP EUROPE May 2017 81
