Wellborn Cabinet purchases 6 to 7 million board feet per year of 4/4 Maple in all grades, and also buys 300,000 to 400,000 board feet a year of 4/4 Cherry in all grades. The company is a manufacturer of kitchen and bath Kyle Knight cabinetry and is also a vertically integrated company that includes sawmill operations and lumber sales. Knight has worked for Wellborn Cabinet for 22 years, and has held his current position for three years. His first job in the forest products industry was as a kiln manager at Wellborn Cabinet. He has also worked as a planer supervisor. Wellborn Cabinet is a member of the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association, Hardwood Manufacturers Association, Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen’s Association, National Hardwood Lumber Association, National Association of the Remodeling Industry and the National Kitchen and Bath Association. Knight attended Wadley High School, located in Wadley, AL. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing and traveling. He’s been married to his wife, Michelle, for five years. Ackerson-Stevens purchases approximately 6 million board feet per year of Ash, Cherry, Poplar, Red and White Oak, Hickory, Walnut and Alder (FAS, 4/4 through 16/4, kilndried, S2S, H&M and rough) among other species, for use in the manufacture of mouldings, treads and flooring. Stevens graduated from Roosevelt High School, located in Seattle, WA, in 1977 and the University of Washington, also in Seattle, in 1981. He has been partner at Ackerson- Stevens for over 27 years, handling lumber purchasing and strategic planning. Peter DeVivi is president and founder of Peter DeVivi Productions Inc., located in Waterloo, NY. Peter DeVivi Productions purchases 1 million board feet annually of No. 2 Common and Better Red and White Oak, Cherry, Ash, Hard Maple, Hickory, Walnut, Poplar and Black Locust in thicknesses from 4/4 to 10/4. The company produces solid wood flooring, custom trim, custom staircases, solid wood mortise and tenon doors and Wine Stix, which are Oak barrel alternatives for the wine manufacturing industry. DeVivi began his career in the wood products industry as a sawyer. He cut Walnut trees and logs into slabs for furniture. He attended the University of Virginia, located in Charlottesville, VA, after graduating from Orange County High School, located in Orange, VA. He also served two terms as president of the Northeast Equipment Dealers Association. Peter DeVivi Productions won the 2004 Central New York Patent Law Association Mechanical Patent of the Year award for the Tapertite® tongue and groove patent for solid wood flooring.
