INDUSTRY NEWS AN UPDATE

INDUSTRY NEWS AN UPDATE COVERING THE LATEST NEWS ABOUT HARDWOOD SUPPLIERS/VENDORS STOLTZFUS INSTALLS NEW RIPSAW AND WALNUT STEAMER Stoltzfus Forest Products, LLC, located in Lancaster, PA, recently installed a new ripsaw and Walnut steamer. These installations will allow the company to increase their ripped to width production and will eliminate unnecessary trucking when it comes to their Walnut production. Stoltzfus produces 10.5 million board feet of sawn lumber and 3.5 million board feet of kiln-dried lumber annually. They also offer green lumber, low grade lumber (railroad ties, pallet lumber, industrial blocking and mat timbers). They offer their kiln-dried lumber sorted to width and color, as well as ripped to width and surfaced. “The new four blade ripsaw has allowed us to speed up our production on the ripped to width and provide this product to more of our customers,” said Benuel Stoltzfus, owner of Stoltzfus Forest Products. “We handled the trucking that shipped our Walnut product to another facility to get it steamed and then bring it back, so we ordered a steamer back in the middle of last year,” Stoltzfus said. This investment in the new steamer has allowed the company to cut back on trucking costs. For more information, visit www.stoltzfusforestproducts.net.
