Domestic And Export Markets For Walnut Discussed At AWMA Meeting Photos By Terry Miller The American Walnut Manufacturers Association (AWMA) met recently at the NHLA convention in Louisville, KY. AWMA members indicated decent markets for green and kiln-dried lumber and robust log markets. Domestic lumber markets have remained steady for the past quarter but log exports have ticked up, particularly to China. Log yards at the mill are robust but logging capacity in certain regions of the U.S are a real concern. AWMA remains focused on market development in India and they plan to launch promotional strategies for Walnut in that region of the world.
