Alan McIlvain Co. Hosts Penn-York Meeting Photos By Paul Miller Jr. Fleetwood, PA–The Penn-York Lumbermen’s Club recently welcomed members and guests to a monthly meeting held at Golden Oaks Golf Club, located here. Alan McIlvain Company, of Marcus Hook, PA, hosted the event. Sixty people were in attendance for the dinner at the Penn-York meeting, and Dana Lee Cole, executive director of the Hardwood Federation, served as the guest speaker. She provided attendees with a legislative update and current issues that the Hardwood Federation is undertaking. In addition to networking opportunities at the dinner and a reception, attendees had the option to participate in a shotgun start golf tournament, as well as a Sport Clay Shooting event. Golden Oaks Golf Club welcomed Penn-York members, and 14 played in the tournament. Andy Nuffer of Thompson Mahogany Co. was first in the Longest Drive contest, and Mark Schumann from Alan McIlvain Co. won Closest to the Pin. The clay shooting prizes were awarded to: Trevor Vaughan from Ron Jones Hardwood Sales Inc., and Jackie Kriner of Carl Rosenberry & Sons Lumber Inc. finished second in the competition. The Sport Clay Shooting contest was held at Wingpointe Resort. Alan McIlvain Company was established 210 years ago, and today produces over 7 million board feet of high grade domestic and imported Hardwood and softwood lumber annually.
