Consult theappropriate UL or NFPA standards.The OctoPOPIT detects open, short, closed,normal, and grounded circuit conditions on itssensor loops and sends the conditions to thecontrol panel. Each sensor loop has an assignedpoint number and sends signals to the controlpanel separately.Use twisted-pair wire for the OctoPOPIT sensorloops to avoid EMI problems. Run wires awayfrom the premises telephone and AC wiring. Ifyou suspect a noisy environment, use shieldedcable.The OctoPOPIT has two rows of terminalnumbers. In the row nearest to the terminalblocks, the positive outputs for the sensor loopsare labeled P1 to P8. Sensor loop outputs P1 andP2, P3 and P4, P5 and P6, and P7 and P8 sharecommon terminals. The common terminals foreach pair are labeled COM.Terminate each OctoPOPIT sensor loop with a 1kΩ.6 - First D8128D7 - Second D8128D8 - Third 8128D9- Up to 15 per Zonex BusEOL resistor. Attach a resistor even if you do notenable the loop. The OctoPOPIT includes aD105BL resistor for each sensor loop. Refer toFigure 21 on page 56.Do not duplicate point assignments.
