How do migrant pastors see there leadership: what is your philosophy?
The pastor is the leader of the flock. ( encourage, correct) Who takes care of the pastor?
What are the pastoral problems in different churches?
Principle of leadership: settled churches can not understand the leadership that is necessary
in an immigrant church and vice versa.
Goal today: exchange experiences on leadership, being a sheppard: implementation,
practical pastoral problems
Er is een groot verschil tussen pastors in Nederland en immigrantenpastors: geschoolde
mensen die een baan zoeken of mensen die geroepen zijn en aan de slag gaan in de kerk.
Statements: choose your position on the right or on the left, do you agree fully, or disagree
fully or stand in the middle:
Stellingen:
- The leader is the one who determines what is happening for 70 %
- ‘Some day ‘ is not a day of the week
- I am the leader, follow me.
- Vision followed or vision shared
- Practise what you preach is more important than to have a clear vision of how to be church
in this century
Vision: why do you want to do something?
Peace of mind: take time to think of 3 questions (concerning what has been discussed just
now) that you want to ask, and who you want to ask them to.
Group discussions: 3 people per group
- Your problem is your opportunity
- No leader is master in all skills needed for leadership. Being aware of that is the first step to
improve your leadership
Everybody likes to use her/his skills
