Als één man voor de achterban
Het werk van de Ondernemingsraad
motiveert mensen, is de visie van Jos
Scholte en Arjan den Arend. Met gerichte
vragen aan de directie en informatie
naar de achterban kunnen wij duidelijkheid
verschaffen. Wekelijks zit een afvaardiging
van de OR bij de HR Manager
tijdens een informeel overleg over voorkomende
zaken zoals bijvoorbeeld ziekteverzuimbeleid
of sanctiebeleid. Elke
maand vindt overleg plaats met Algemeen
Directeur Henk Pauw over zaken als investeringen,
Rio Tinto Alcan, enz.
DNA
Voordat de Brown Paper Company (BPC)
werd ingehuurd als extern adviesbureau,
heeft het Directieteam de plannen
voorgelegd aan de OR. Wij hebben hiermee

Before the Brown Paper Company (BPC) was
brought in as an external consultant, the
Management Team submitted the plans to the
Works Council, which we approved. The New
Approach (TNA) developed subsequently in
collaboration with BPC was rolled out over the
course of 2008 in the Maintenance Department,
Paste Plant and Furnaces. The remaining
departments are next in line for 2009.
Afterwards we will set up an evaluation process
to see what the actual results of BPC’s support
have been. Each week Arjan joins the TNA
steering group, made up of members of the
Management Team, BPC and himself.

met de stuurgroep DNA die bestaat uit
leden van de Directie en BPC en Arjan.
Arbeidsomstandigheden blijven
prioriteit
De arbeidsomstandigheden voor veilig en
gezond werken blijven hoog op de agenda
staan. De VGWM-commissie is nog steeds
druk bezig met de risico-inventarisatie
uit 2008 en het daaruit voortvloeiende

Working conditions remain a priority
The conditions for a safe and healthy working
environment remain high on the agenda. The
HSE committee is still busy with the risk
inventory from 2008 and the related action
plan. Human exposure to hazardous substances
must be avoided at all times using technical
measures, good housekeeping (GHK), timely
planned maintenance, personal protective
equipment (PPE) and proper supervision of the
output.

Helaas lijkt de kredietcrisis voor uitstel
te zorgen, maar wij zullen ervoor zorgen
dat uitstel geen afstel betekent. Het
welzijn van onze mensen staat tenslotte
voorop en daar staan wij als OR voor!
Aluchemie’s Vision for 2013 is that ultimately
PPE will no longer be necessary due to major
improvements in working conditions,
particularly in the Paste Plant. Although it does
seem that the economic crisis has unfortunately
caused delays, we will ensure that this does not
lead to cancellations. After all, the well-being
of our people is top priority, and that is what
the Works Council is here for!
