sempre visando o total bem-estar dos alunos e um desenvolvimento
pleno.
A sede possui berçário, sala de aula, sala de atividade, sala
de vídeo, dormitórios, cozinha industrial, pátio e uma área
verde. Proporciona, assim, conforto, espaço e infraestrutura
para o desenvolvimento das crianças, que são estimuladas
através de atividades lúdicas a exercitar as capacidades
motoras e iniciar o processo de alfabetização.
As crianças crescem ... e depois dos seis anos, o que fazer
com elas para garantir a continuidade da educação?
Para Maria de Lourdes Goulart, diretora da creche desde a
fundação, era um sofrimento preparar as crianças de seis
anos para ir para outra escola: “Todos aqui na creche tem
alimentação adequada, assistência médica e odontológica,
disciplina e muito carinho. Era triste me desligar delas, e
sempre chorava muito. Ganhei quatro salas e pude atender
mais crianças, mas ainda faltava, porque quando elas
saiam da quarta série iam para outros colégios que não
tinham a mesma estrutura que oferecemos. O Anizio, que
sempre acompanhou de perto o que acontecia na Creche,
decidiu então abrir o educandário para dar continuidade à
educação de qualidade que as crianças necessitam”, conclui
Maria de Lourdes.
Assim, a Beija-Flor de Nilópolis, atendendo mais uma vez
a necessidade das crianças da região e chamando para si
a responsabilidade de continuar a ajudá-las, funda o Educandário
Abrão David. No total, 18 mil pessoas já foram
beneficiadas pela creche e educandário.
EDUCANDÁRIO ABRÃO DAVID
Fundado em 19 de fevereiro de 1987, visando dar continuidade
ao trabalho iniciado na Creche Júlia Abrão David,
o Educandário Abrão David atende hoje 1.130 crianças. Os
alunos do 1º ao 9º ano do ensino regular têm aulas de inglês,
educação física, aula de informática, história da arte
e artesanato com pintura de materiais reciclados, conscientizando
os pequenos da importância da preservação
do meio ambiente.
Quando completa seis anos de idade, a criança que sai da
creche é automaticamente matriculada no educandário,
onde continua a receber os mesmos benefícios, como quatro
refeições diárias, tratamento odontológico e assistência
médica.
Desde o primeiro momento, o Educandário, como é carinhosamente
conhecido na região, surpreendeu pelo seu
projeto moderno e grandiosidade, e já se diferenciava no
cenário da educação. Com uma estrutura própria de 875
m², conta hoje com 13 salas de aula, laboratórios de ciên-

good work after the kids were older than six.
For Maria de Lourdes Goulart, director of the center
since its founding, it was hard to see the kids leave
for other schools after having prepared them with
such high standards: “Everyone here receives good
food, medical and dental care, discipline and lots of
love. It was sad to see them leave and I always cried
a lot. I managed to get four more classrooms and we
could serve more kids, but still after finishing fourth
grade they had to go to other schools that didn’t
have the same structure we offered. So Anizio, who
always closely followed what happened at the center,
decided to open a school to continue the high-quality
education the children need.”
Thus, once again Beija-Flor of Nilópolis met the needs
of the region’s kids by founding the Abrão David
School. To date over 18 thousand children have benefited
from the daycare center and school.
ABRÃO DAVID SCHOOL
Founded on February 19, 1987 to continue the work
started by the Júlia Abrão David Daycare Center, the
Abrão David School today serves 1,130 children,
from the first through ninth grade. Besides the core
subjects, the students have classes in English, physical
education, computers, art history, painting and
handcrafts with recycled material, to heighten their
awareness of environmental preservation.
When they turn seven, the kids leaving the daycare
center have enrollment guaranteed in the school,
where they continue to receive the same benefits,
with three meals and a snack daily and medical and
dental assistance.
Since the outset, the school has been ahead of its
time and has stood out as a center of excellence. With
floor space of 875 m2, today it has 13 classrooms,
a science lab and computer room, lunchroom with
capacity of 120 people, library, kitchen and administrative
facilities.
The school’s curriculum is based on the main pedagogic
concepts for success: a holistic vision, selection
of subjects aimed at continuing to higher education,
nurturing of a deep understanding instead of rote memorization,
and encouragement of self-development.
