No que diz respeito às receitas internacionais do turismo em 2006, <strong>Portugal</strong> atingiu os 6,6 milhões <strong>de</strong><br />
euros, tendo registado um crescimento <strong>de</strong> 7,3% relativamente a 2005.<br />

Até 2003, <strong>Portugal</strong> aumentou a sua quota <strong>de</strong> mercado mundial tendo registado um <strong>de</strong>créscimo a partir<br />
<strong>de</strong> 2004. Em 2000 <strong>Portugal</strong> posicionou-se no 19º lugar do ranking mundial, estando actualmente em<br />
23º lugar.<br />
As receitas internacionais do turismo em <strong>Portugal</strong>, embora com crescimentos médios anuais inferiores<br />
à Europa, tem acompanhado as tendências positivas tanto do Mundo como da macro-região em que<br />
se insere (Europa). No entanto, é <strong>de</strong> salientar o crescimento <strong>de</strong> <strong>Portugal</strong> (7,3%) entre 2005 e 2006,<br />
que se revelou superior ao verificado na Europa (6,7%). <strong>Portugal</strong> tem mantido a sua posição no ranking<br />
europeu, oscilando entre o 12º lugar e o 13º em 2006. Em termos <strong>de</strong> quota <strong>de</strong> mercado passou <strong>de</strong><br />
2,26% em 2000 para 2,22% em 2006.<br />
