FINAL REMARKS AND RECOMENDATIONS (Luquetti ( Luquetti)
1) Need to certify chagasic etiology, before treatment
2) Serology by titration using two conventional serological techniques
of different principles
3) Store serum before treatment in safe conditions
4) Yearly evaluations, at least by serology
5) Parasitological tests desirable, if available
6) Value of parasitological positive result: only of treatment failure
7) Wait necessary time:
up to five years for acute phase
up to ten years for recent chronic phase
up to 20 years for late chronic phase
8) Persistence of positive serology after this time, suggest treatment failure
9) Repeated negative serology indicates cure
