In the field of highly dispersed heterogeneous catalysts, EXAFS is to <strong>da</strong>y<br />

en important technique very largely used. Using a <strong>de</strong>dicated experimental cell<br />

we are studying some of these materials, basically ma<strong>de</strong> of platinum on<br />

alumina, directly un<strong>de</strong>r reactive Conditions, et high temperature, either during<br />

different oxi<strong>da</strong>tion reduction cycles or while several catalytic<br />

transformations are performed. Both conventional and time resolved<br />

experiments were un<strong>de</strong>rtaken so that the kinetics of the structural and<br />

electronic evolutions of these catalysts are followed. These new results<br />

<strong>de</strong>fine more accurately the relationships between the metallic egregate and its<br />

environment. Particular features such as the influences of the nature of the<br />

precursor and the metal loading, the temperature and time <strong>de</strong>pen<strong>de</strong>nce of the<br />

reaction, the correlation between the particles size and the chemical<br />

compounds issued from the reaction will be discussed.<br />
