IMUNOLOGIA DA GESTAÇÃO Michelon et al.
ARTIGO ESPECIAL
sáveis pela manutenção do microambiente
e alorreconhecimento dos tecidos
feto-placentários. Nesse contexto,
respostas imunes inadequadas podem
estar envolvidas com falhas no processo
de implantação embrionária, causa
de abortamentos espontâneos de repetição
e outras patologias, tais como
retardo de crescimento intra-uterino,
síndrome HELLP, trabalho de parto
prematuro e pré-eclâmpsia.
Na atualidade, a imunologia da reprodução
constitui um capítulo adjuvante
na compreensão e resolução de
casos obstétricos complexos, podendo
oferecer investigação, diagnóstico e terapia
específicos, que, em última análise,
complementam a rotina reprodutiva.
