Valborg
Every year, at the 30th of April, Valborg is
celebrated throughout the whole country. Valborg
is a huge feast for students and the Association of
Student unions in Gothenburg (GFS) is in charge
of a big celebration in Trädgårdsföreningen. The
celebration is a two hour long show with different
student associations. In addition the show starts with
an entertaining student march down the Avenue.

Also, don’t miss the traditional Chalmers cortége
on the evening of Valborg! It’s a huge carnival
procession down the avenue with approximately
250 000 spectators.
Culture
Exhibitions and performances
The faculty of fine, applied and performing arts at
the University of Gothenburg is the largest faculty
for artistic science in Scandinavia. The students who
study there have public exhibitions and performances
all year round. At www.konst.gu.se you can keep an
eye on what’s happening.
Spex is a form of theatre written and performed
by students. The show is funny and contains loads
of singing and dancing. Spex is very traditional for
students and you might see the posters everywhere
when a new spex open. The five largest spex

The Program committee at Chalmers arranges
concerts with everything from jazz artists to bands
that play pop´n rock. You’ll find the programme at

The Göteborg Opera is the big stage of Gothenburg.
You’ll find tickets from 75 SEK and they have discount

Cinema
The Program committee at Chalmers show movies at
Chalmers Student Union’s union house and if you are
not a member of Chalmers Student Union you can
become a member of the film club “Chalmersbion”.
Membership and tickets can be found in “Vörtpannan”
in the union house 60 min before the movie begins.
