Climbing up thestairs, the horizon was modified and invitedus to form part of the double sidedgame of watch and being watched.On the other hand, Cecilia Mandrile,a nomadic artist, who has not lived inArgentina since the year ´95, passedthrough Buenos Aires and placed amailbox with pictures of her travels. ForLa Posta (el desierto adentro) [Way Station(the desert inside)] she left paper,envelopes and pencils inside a mailboxinviting everyone to open a dialoguewith the city which, in her own words, isas foreign as it belong to her. By the endof the show she found in her mailboxanonymous letters, which she took forher next trip.Finally, coming from the North Easternprovince of Misiones, Andrés Paredesbrought us a little piece of the green,thick jungle, where the sun peepsthrough the laced wood. This Pulmoncito(Little lung), which pretended tobring some fresh air to the middle ofthe city was surrounded by the smokeof the thousands of cigarettes, consequenceof the new law which forbidssmoking indoors.In 2007, the Foundation for BrazilianStudies Centre (FBSC), with the supportof the Brazilian embassy, added upto the project with the Poste-Puenteproposal, therefore inviting RicardoPimienta, Director of the Poste Galleryof Brazil, to make an intervention atthe Rojas Post, and inviting me as thedirector of the argentian post gallerybranch to make my own interventionat the post at the door of the FBSC. Aninternational post-exchange experienceindeed which was completed with adebate in which we (the artists) and thedirectors of the brazilian and argentinianinstitutions involved in the project,took part.The assignment that both Pimienta andme had to develop in our respectivepost was our view of the other`s country.We decide to celebrate. Pimientathought about both countries mostpopular drinks, cacaza for Brazil andwine in the case of Argentina, and hethrew a party where those drinks wereserved in the multicolour plastic cups,which would later serve as the materialin which the post would be covered in.On the other hand my idea consistedof a Birthday party post to celebrate Niemayer’s(one of Brazil`s most emblematicarquitects) one hundred anniversary.The celebration included a party inthe street with brazilian music.Galeria del Poste opened as an artist’slaboratory and took us playing unexpectedly,and was a place where all thedifficulties turned out to be stimulating.It enabled the artists to take possessionof a new space in which to exhibitand further their poetic languages. Somt.ex Krause, Neckar, van Ginkel, Domeij,Västervik, Charles Brand, Americanfrench tool etc. Alla dessa pressar harbra kvaliteter i förhållande till olika typerav tryckning.Men, den absolut bästa som byggs idagens läge är Sjöströmpressen produceradav Ateljé Sjöström i Hässleholm,Sverige. Pressens konstruktör UlfSjöström har hållit på att bygga dessasedan1977. Jag tar Öresundstågetfrån Malmö upp till Hässleholm tidigen varm morgon i slutet av Juni. . Ulfhämtar mig på stationen och vi åkerut till Ateljén som är lokaliserad i östradelen av Hässleholm. Ulf berättar atthan hela tiden finjusterar och förbättrarpressarnas standard. Basen tillkonstruktionen är hämtad från de tyskaKrause pressarna som byggdes i slutetav 1800 talet och en bit in på 1900talet.Dessa byggdes främst för produktioninnanför den då existerande grafiska tryckeriindustrins behov, samt användesockså av de professionella koppartryckarna.Den fundamentala uppbyggnaden avpressen med en stor kraftig och rättdimensionerad undervals tillsammansmed också rätt uträknad storlek påövervalsen, driven med en elektrisklågutväxlad motor, en tryckbädd i kompositmaterialsamt en lätt inställningav trycket är nyckeln i denna pjäs. Överårens lopp har Atelje Sjöström levereratpressar till de flesta konsthögskolorna iSkandinavien, bla har Konsthögskolan iBergen en på 120cm bredd. Konstnäreroch professionella djuptrycks tryckerierär också innehavare av denna press .Ateljé Larsen har t.ex 5 st i olika formatbla en på 150cm bred och 300cm långtryckbädd. Just i dagarna har AteljéSjöström levererat en press i detta formatner till Konstnärskollektivet Spinnereii Leipzig , Tyskland. Detta är ettverkligt imponerande konstnärscentermed bla ateljéer för konstnärer innanförolika genrer, bookshop, konstnärsbutik,café och till och med en barnhage därkonstnärerna kan lämna av sina små närde är på arbete i sina ateljéer. Detta ärett intressant koncept som man kanskebör tänka på här i Norge och i övrigaSkandinavien.Vi vandrar vidare genom lokalerna ochtittar på begagna utrustning som hanhar på lager. Där finns bla en Västervikspresspå 70cm och en Neckarpresspå ca 80cm.
