DOBRAVA – THE PLACE WHERE I LIVE
Dobrava is a village, located in the south-east of Slovenia. It’s a really old village because
there are still some remains of the old buildings. But these days there are lots of new houses
which were built in the last 5 years. The current population is about 80 people, I wouldn’t
really know because I’ve stopped counting. There are a lot of newcomers, who came from
the cities. We also have a church located in the middle of the village. It is said that two bombs
were dropped on it during the second world war, but none of them exploded. People are
difficult to describe because some are really friendly and some aren’t. Those who are friendly,
will always say hello and invite you to have a glass of wine with them. The village is
surrounded by beautiful nature, there are a lot of forests on one side and vineyards on the
other. Most of the people go to
work in the morning, so there
aren’t really any signs of life till
the afternoon when people come
home from their jobs, kids come
from school and you can see the
children playing games, old
grannies chatting about their
gardens and old men sitting under
the old oak tree chatting about the
things going on around the world.
When the night falls, you get a
magical impression of the village
because it’s a place of warm lights
playing with moonlight. I wouldn’t
give my home village away for
anything in the world.

Glavni junaki šestega in zadnjega dela pustolovske knjige so Torak, Renn in Volk. Zgodba se
odvija v času, ko je bila Evropa še obdana z gozdom, snegom in ledom. Ljudje so bili
razdeljeni v klane, imenovani po ţivalih, ki so ţivele v njihovem predelu gozda: Krokarjev
klan, Klan rdečega jelena idr.
Torak se odpravi po sledeh Eostre, še zadnje izmed Poţiralcev duš, ki hoče njegovo dušo
sveta in dušo Duhaselca, da bi zavladala ţivim in mrtvim. Renn se odpravi za njim. Med potjo
se najdeta, pridruţi se jima tudi Volk, Torakov »brat«. Na Gori duhov Torak s pomočjo starih
in novega prijatelja Temnega premaga Eostro. Na koncu romana se Torak in Renn odpravita
na raziskovanje gozda na drugi strani Gore duhov.
To knjigo bi priporočila tistim, ki jih zanima, kako so ţiveli, ko je bila Evropa še pod ledom
ter kasneje v gozdu, kako so se prehranjevali, v kaj so verjeli …
