Timothy Wilton<br />

Tim Wilton trained at Oxford and at UCH<br />

medical school and in Orthopaedics at<br />

Nottingham, Harlow Wood, Derby and<br />

South Wales with travelling fellowships<br />

in North America, Strasbourg, Bern and<br />

Ljubljana.<br />

He now has an entirely elective practice in lower limb<br />

arthroplasty and has specialised in Knee replacement and knee<br />

revision surgery for the last 26 years. He has a lifetime personal<br />

experience of over 2500 hip and 3500 knee replacements.<br />

He teaches widely on technical aspects of knee replacement<br />

and has been invited lecturer throughout the world and at<br />

the major European, North American and International Knee<br />

Surgery organisations.<br />

He is a founder member of the new European Knee Society. He<br />

is currently Secretary of Council of the Bone and Joint Journal.<br />

His research interests are mainly in Soft-tissue aspects of knee<br />

replacement and the outcome of primary and revision total<br />

knees.<br />

He is involved with managing the ODEP and Beyond<br />

Compliance systems for implant assessment and was involved<br />

in developing the NJR.<br />

He has previously served as President, Hon Secretary and Hon<br />

Treasurer of the British Association for Surgery of the Knee.<br />

He will be President of the British Orthopaedic Association for<br />

<strong>2016</strong>/17.<br />
