for his/her child agrees that the parent and child will abide by the policies and regulations of<br />
the school. If the policies and /or regulations are not adhered to, or if the school determines<br />
that attendance by a student will not be continued, the child may be asked to leave the school<br />
by the principal and/or pastor at the elementary level and the principal and/or superintendent<br />
at the high school level.<br />
Admission – Child Custody (from Diocesan Policy 5119.2)<br />
The custodial parent is required to provide the principal or the person in charge of<br />
Admissions with the most current certified copy of any child custody order or decree<br />
pertaining to a student.<br />
<strong>School</strong> Attendance Areas<br />
A. Diocesan Policy Impacting <strong>Fisher</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> Attendance<br />
The location of the residence of the student’s legal guardian is used to determine the assigned<br />
high school.<br />
<strong>Fisher</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong>:<br />
Fairfield, Hocking, Perry*, Ross, and Pickaway* Counties<br />
(Fairfield County includes all members of John XXIII Parish)<br />
Please Note: An asterisk (*) designates that the area is listed under two high schools.<br />
B. Waivers<br />
Waivers are for the purpose of documenting permission for students to attend a <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>High</strong><br />
<strong>School</strong> in the Diocese of Columbus outside of the geographical location of the parent(s) or<br />
legal guardian(s).<br />
Waivers will be granted only for following reasons:<br />
1) If siblings have attended the requested school;<br />
2) If either parent attended the requested school;<br />
3) If the assigned school feels it would be in the best interest of the student to attend<br />
the requested school;<br />
4) If the requested school has an academic program that is not available in the<br />
assigned school; or<br />
5) If transportation is not available to the assigned school.<br />
Waivers will not be granted for reasons related to participation in athletics. A request for<br />
a waiver must be made by the parent(s)/guardian(s) on the form provided by the<br />
Diocesan requested schools. When completed, the form is to be sent to the<br />
Superintendent of <strong>School</strong>s. Waivers may be granted solely at the discretion of the<br />
Superintendent.
