MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRMAN Dear Stakeholders, G4-1 With a strong appreciation of its social and environmental responsibilities, İNTERKAP, a leading producer of plastic caps, closures and components, is crowning its 25th anniversary celebrations with this, its first Global Reporting Initiative report. This GRI report describes our many efforts to achieve and facilitate a high living standard for future generations. Since it was founded in 1991, İNTERKAP has prioritized its employees’ education and welfare, and has pursued the highest production quality and client satisfaction as consistent goals. But we are aware of the impact we have on climate change, as well as our consumption of energy and resources during our production processes, and we have never forgotten our responsibility to sustain the environment for future generations. We have therefore set ourselves goals to minimize our impact, and continuously strive to achieve them. Although İNTERKAP published this first Sustainability Report for 2015, the institution has since undergone a more concrete analysis of its environmental and social impacts via product sustainability measurements and Life Cycle Assessment. Consequently, İNTERKAP has started its sustainability journey with the attitude “understand your impact first”. From its early days, İNTERKAP has supported the business model of ‘sustainability’: the method of achieving economic growth and improvements in welfare, while preserving the environment and maintaining the living standard of all people. Through this report, we hope to inspire our stakeholders, who are a central part of our value chain, with our enthusiasm for a sustainable outlook. 1 We are proud to publish this, our first Sustainability Report which presents our economic, environmental and social efforts transparently to our respected clients, employees, suppliers and other stakeholder. ABOUT THE REPORT 1 While proudly looking back on the past 25 years of operation, we present for the consideration of our valued stakeholders this Sustainability Report, published for the first time this year, containing the economic, environmental, social and ethical issues which have remained at the forefront of our activities throughout the last quarter-century. The report describes the economic, environmental and social impacts which arose as a result of our activities in 2015, in accordance with the option Core of the GRI G4 Guidelines. Relying on our principles of transparency, veracity and accuracy, we have included in the report the primary issues for continuation of our social, environmental and economic sustainability policies.
