Objectives of our Internationalisation Programme
• To develop in our students the 21CC of global awareness and cross-cultural skills and sensitivities.
• To expose our students to Asia, particularly on ASEAN countries, and to sensitise them to the place of
Singapore in the world.
• To deepen students’ commitment and rootedness to Singapore.
Key Internationalisation Programmes in Beatty Secondary School
• Japanese Cultural Exchange Programme with Mutsuzawa Junior High School (20 years)
• Japanese Cultural Exchange Programme with Mihara City, Japan (18 years)
• Shanghai Immersion Programme with Changzheng Secondary School (10 years)
• Humanities Cultural Immersion Programme to Vietnam
• Experiential and Service Learning to Vietnam
The trips to Japan and Shanghai include a hosting programme in Singapore and a homestay programme
in Japan or Shanghai. The students will join their buddies for a home stay over the weekend where they
experienced the warm local hospitality and get a chance to deepen their friendships with each other. They also
attending lessons at school in order to experience learning in a different culture. Secondary 2 and 3 students
will be given opportunities to sign up for these Internationalisation trips every year.
