¿Has visto
Y me dijo:
“No pasa nada, los tiburones de aquí no han atacado a la gente nunca. ¡Qué suerte por
verlo, jajaja!” Le creí, pero en aquel momento tuve mucho miedo.
THE IMPORTANCE OF SPORT
What benefits do you get from doing sport?
CAN SPORT MAKE YOU HIGH?
It is widely assumed that doing any kind of sport is a very healthy habit that everyone
should develop. However, little is known about what the real benefits of the different
disciplines are.
Needless to say that all sorts of activity may contribute to develop your endurance
as well as your physical strength. But, besides, disciplines like ancient martial arts
from Asia are meant to provide you with a balanced state of mind, since periods of
relaxation and meditation are regarded in its training sessions.
On the other hand, there are sports such as football, basketball or even baseball,
and mostly gymnastics, that help you to extend your stretching abilities to over the
top. But…hey! Which is the one and only discipline that is commonly known as the
most complete one? Yes, bingo! Your presumption is correct: swimming! By swimming
you exercise very single muscle of your body; from head to toe! Moreover, you would
develop a high skill in your breathing latency and rhythm for obvious reasons.
Jokes apart, swimming is claimed to be one of the most harmless activities since, by
no means, it is one of those “high impact activities”, such as football or the state-ofthe-art
running.
Personally, I am more keen on “low impact activities”, although they can end up in
a super-high impact activity… Nevertheless, either low or high impact activities
are healthy routines that would definitely make you feel not only in shape, but also
brighter and faster. Moreover, have you ever heard of endorphins? Well, they are
hormones of happiness, and your brain would segregate them more when and after
exercising… What else would you need to know to just start working out?
WOULD YOU LIKE TO LIVE 100 YEARS?
I know the answer. In fact, everybody does. But first of all, you have to know that I’m
not an example. I mean, I’m not a healthy man. I don’t do any sport, I don’t go for a
walk for one hour at least every day, etc. I’m not going to continue, I guess you know
what I’m talking about.
But from my bad experience, I’m loaded with reasons to speak with knowledge. As
people say, do what I say not what I do.
I remember a song recommending the things you have to do to live 100 years. If you
want to be as fit as a fiddle, you have to be healthy, you have to eat ecological food,
you have to drink 2 liters of spring water, you must go to the gym and, consequently,
you have to save money because at your
80s you will be enjoying a great health.
Surely your pancreas will produce insulin
without any difficulty. Your kidney will
filter your blood as if you were 10 years
old… You will find yourself full of health
and this is expensive.
As I said, I’m not an example but trust
me. I will be deeply grateful if you follow
my advice. Remember, I know what you
shouldn’t do.
THE BALL IS IN YOUR COURT!
Nowadays, everybody says that doing a sport is very important for health, not only
physical health, but also mental health. However, have you ever thought about the
benefits you get from doing sport? Here are some beneficial effects of playing sport.
1. Physical benefits
Physically, sport helps you to have strong muscles and bones, and also to maintain
weight because you burn a lot of calories. Sport can also improve your blood
circulation, helps in maintaining lower levels of bad cholesterol and in reducing the
risk of diabetes and hypertension.
2. Mental benefits
When you are physically active, your brain produces endorphins and you feel more
relaxed and optimistic; for that reason, sport reduces depression and stress. On the
other hand, sports improve the quality of sleep and sleeping better is necessary for
your mental health. Finally, physical activity also improves your concentration.
3. Social benefits
Another important effect of sports I that they improve the social part of health,
sports are a good way to meet people and make new friends.
It’s not important if you do team sports, individual sports or just go to the gym to
work out. Choose a kind of sport and do it at least three times a week, you will be
satisfied with the results.
Remember: You don’t always get what you wish for, you get what you work for. THE
