RAMOS
VICTIM OR CULPRIT?
There is no
doubt about the Ramos’s
brilliant strategies and talent in
football, but recently his Hollywood
level dramatic acting and martial arts
skills are coming to surface; a two more
achievements to be added to his list of
talents on the turf.
Even though Sergio Ramos lifted
another Champions League trophy, his
involvement in an incident in the match
with Juventus left a lot of speculations.
Ramos pulled out a trick on Juventus
substitute Juan Cuadrado. When the
Colombian sprinted to get the ball and
yield a throw-in, he hastily brushed
Ramos sidewise, unintentionally
trapping him with his studs and then
went normally to resume the game. But
Ramos theatrically collapsed to the
ground, as if he was just been gunned
down by a sniper, feigning injury and
convulsing wildly. Even referee Felix
Brych was conned and ended up
waving a second yellow card for
Cuadrado. Juventus – already in the
swamp – were down to 10 men, their
job made grimmer by Ramos and his
theatrical hoax for which he deserves
an Oscar.
Additionally, Throughout Champions
League final against Real Madrid he
was diving, pretending to be injured
and trying to injure opposition players.
He deliberately dislocated Mo Salah’s
shoulder,
forcing him to leave the field,
this looks more like a mastered judo
move. If this was not deliberate, he
could have released Salah’s arm at any
moment during the fall. Footage has
emerged of the Liverpool/Real game
confirming that Ramos’s interaction
with Salah was reckless at best and a
cynical act of criminal assault at worse.
There was also a lot of pictures framing
him laughing as Salah was tearfully
leaving the pitch.
Prior to that, He has also elbowed
Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius in the
head when both were away from the
ball, causing Karius to have a
concussion, to which Ramos reacted
saying: "After the goalkeeper said that I
dazed him with a clash. I am only
missing Firmino saying that he got a
cold because a drop of my sweat
landed on him. “Obviously, Karius
made two pricey mistakes throughout
the the game, specifically after the
encounter with Ramos.
Needless to say, when Ramos is
required to defend one on one, he is all
too impulsive in his decision making -
as confirmed by the 24 red cards he has
accumulate in La Liga, more than any
other player, crowning his blunders
with the WWF technique he
demonstrated on Salah. Even great
footballers criticized him for this.
English great Rio Ferdinand said: "If my
son watched me do that I'd be
embarrassed to look him in the eye!”
