중고등부
Hello, I'm Deborah Kim, and I am the new junior high
pastor here at OMC. Junior High department is ready
for God to do something new amongst the students
and staff. We hope that is a time when students can
ask questions and make their faith their own. We
want students to have a personal relationship with
God, who knows them and lives them. I look forward
to working with parents and staff to disciple young
people into a full commitment to Jesus.

Hello! My name is John Chae, and I am currently the
high school pastor at OMC. In our ministry, we focus
on creating a foundation that will help students
succeed once they graduate. One of the foundational
pieces is for students to have a solid understanding
of their identity under Christ. Second, we want
to make our church a place for youth to feel like
a home away from home, a place where students
are genuinely feeling like family members with
one another. Lastly, we want to
encourage honest questions and
expect honest answers. This is all
so that we can guide our kids to be
followers of Jesus Christ.

OMC의 그루터기

2004년 1월 둘째 정빈이가 아직 뱃속에 있을 때부터 OMC
를 다니기 시작했습니다. 그동안 교회에 정착할 수 있었던
이유는 세상에서는 볼수없는 거룩함과 때뭍지않은 예수님
의 인품을 가진 조슈아 임 전도사님께 아이를 맡기고 싶어
서였습니다. 그리고 후임으로 오신 잔채 전도사님 또한 얼
마나 어린아이처럼 맑고 순수하신지, 영적으로나 세상적
으로나 이렇게 순수하고 신실한 목회자들을 어디서 만날
수 있을까요?
잔채 전도사님께서 매주일 전해주시는 설교말씀들은 아이
들이 공감하는 예를 들며 재밌으면서도 중요한 말씀의 핵
심은 빠뜨리지않고 얼마나 잘 전달하시는지, 제가 매번 눈
물을 글썽이며 은혜를 받습니다. 중고등부 학생들이 직접
인도하고 연주하는 은혜로운 찬양과 youth ministry 주일
학교 교사로 수십년을 변함없이 섬기고 계시는 Jimmy 강
집사님과 EM 젊은이들이 교사로 세워져있는 주일 youth
ministry 예배는 주님께서 강건히 붙잡고 계십니다.
여름성경학교(VBS)나 어와나(AWANA), 홀리윈(Holywin)
등 교회행사에서 봉사하는 사람들을 잘 보면 과거 youth
ministry에서부터 자라서 현재 영어예배 EM를 다니고 있
는 젊은이들 그리고 지금 중고등부 youth ministry에 다
니고 있는 학생들이 많이 보입니다. 부모님들이 교회를 떠
나도 변함없이 남아 동양선교교회를 지키고 이끌어나갔던
그루터기는 youth ministry와 EM이였음은 누구보다도
주님께선 더 잘 아실것 입니다. 임동선 목사님과 함께 예배
를 드리셨던 1세대들이 지나가면, 앞으로 EM이 동양선교
교회를 이끌어 나갈 주역임을 의심치 않습니다.
