Sejem DOM 2010 Ljubljana Home Fair 2010
Na poti k trajnostnemu okolju
Sejem Dom odraža sodobne trende s področja graditeljstva,
rabe energije, energetskih sistemov, hišne tehnike in bivanja
nasploh.
ozaveščenost proizvajalcev, graditeljev in uporabnikov stavb.
trajnostnem okolju.
orodja. Ta so raznovrstna, od analitskih do promocijskih. Eno takih
On the path to sustainable
environment
The Home Fair reflects the contemporary trends from the field of
building and construction, use of energy, energy systems, building
technology and living in general. One of the distinctive components
of these trends is also environmental awareness of manufacturers,
construction builders and the users of buildings. These are the newly
emphasised guidelines of sustainable construction.
The concept of sustainable construction itself has been present in
building construction by its content for a long time; however, it has
been pushed to the background. In recent times, it is emerging with
a great force, together with awareness that it is particularly the
buildings and their equipment, which are the key factors of sustainable
development.
But what is the content of this concept anyway? The first answer,
which offers itself to us by itself, is energy efficiency of buildings.
However, sustainable construction is much more than that. It also
includes energy efficient process of the construction itself; the use
of materials which contribute least to negative environmental
indicators; it is about the care for recycling of waste and,
consequently, for reduction of impact on the environment through
exploitation of natural resources. It is about firstly reducing the
energy requirement and secondly obtaining the required energy in
a sustainable manner, from renewable resources. Last but not least,
it is also about the influence of new concepts on society through
raising awareness that, for example, switching off lights where they
are not required, goes without saying, and that, for example, in
terms of new buildings, the phase of positioning of the building in
space is already of key importance. Consequently, it is an integral
shift in the comprehension of the impact of the home on the
environment and, thus, of the impact on future generations.
However, if we wish to enforce these principles, we also require the
tools. These are varied, from analytical to promotional. One such tool
is certainly the present Fair, which, in addition to other things, is also
an opportunity to draw our attention as users of buildings that each
individual can and must contribute to change. The materials, products
and solutions exhibited at the Fair represent the stones of the paving
on the path of sustainable environment. All that is left for us to do is to
take this path.
