General Information
• Hertz will require a deposit to be paid at the rental counter of your pick up location. This covers any
additional costs, such as fuel and optional equipment or services. Hertz accepts all major credit
cards. If the renter does not hold a credit card, they will be required to leave a deposit of a minimum
of AU$400 in cash. Cash deposits are only acceptable on specific car classes and at specific
locations.
• Minimum driver age in Australia is 21 years on all vehicles except group M where the minimum
driving age is 25 years.
• A Young Driver Surcharge applies to all drivers aged 21-24 years of AU$27.50 per rental day to
a maximum charge of AU$192.50 per rental. There is no set maximum driving age, however, a
medical certificate is recommended for drivers over 75 years.
• All drivers of the Hertz vehicle must carry a full, current Drivers License that has been held for at
least one year. All drivers must have their names registered, and licence sighted, at your pick up
location. There is no charge for additional drivers.
• Once you have left New Zealand and you wish to make changes to the rental, these changes will
be charged at the local applicable rate and paid direct.
• If you return your vehicle early, there is no refund on the unused days.
GROUP E

• You have a 29-minute grace period after the confirmed drop time, before extra hour charges are
incurred. Extra charges will be at the local applicable rate and paid direct.
• One way rentals are permitted on groups B, H, C, S, D, E, F & T only. For rentals of 3 days or more
within Metro Regions – no one-way fee will apply. Minimum 1 day hire is available between the following
locations: Brisbane, Surfers Paradise, Coolangatta, Noosa and Maroochydore. One way fees and further
restrictions will apply if hire includes Northern Territory or Western Australia locations, 4WD or Mini Bus.
Additional Extras
• Child seats are available on request and cost AU$16.50 per day, to a maximum of AU$82.50
including GST per hire and is paid direct to Hertz.
• Additional Extras, such as Baby seats, Renter Protection Services, One-way fees, NeverLost and Fuel
may be subject to Airport Concession Fee Recovery, Administration Recovery and Stamp Duty charges.

General Information
• On pick up of the vehicle the driver is responsible for a security deposit of AU$100. A pre-authorised credit
card imprint will be taken to cover the DLF plus any optional extra’s. Cash deposits are not accepted.
Provided the vehicle is returned on time, with a full tank of fuel, to the right location and undamaged then
the credit card will not be charged (with the exception of any optional extras or optional insurances).
• Where a credit card is used, a merchant fee will apply, currently 1.65% for all credit cards.
• Minimum Driver age is 21 years.
• A Young Driver Surcharge applies to drivers aged 21-24 years inclusive of AU$30.50 per day
payable direct. Drivers aged 21-24 can not reduce their damage liability on the vehicle. Renters
aged 21-24 can only rent vehicles ECMR, CDAR, IDAR, SDAR, IFDR.
• You will be required to present your DTN Drive Holidays exchange voucher, drivers license and
passport in order to collect your vehicle.
• All drivers must carry a full, current drivers license that has been held for at least one year. All
drivers must have their names registered, and license sighted at your pick up location.
• One additional driver is included, any extra drivers will be charged at AU$5.50 per day, per driver
– max charge AU$27.50.
• Once you have left New Zealand and you wish to make changes to the rental, these changes will

• If you return your vehicle early there can be no refund on unused rental days.
• All additional extras payable direct are subject to PLS, Admin and CC fees. Fees and charges are
subject to change.
Additional Extras
• Child seats cost AU$7.70 per day, to a maximum of AU$77 payable direct at pick up of your
vehicle and although provided by Europcar – must be installed by the driver of the vehicle.
• GPS units are on a request basis only and are at an additional cost of AU$10.95 per day payable
direct at pick up of your vehicle – max charge AU$109.50.
• Additional extra’s, such as Baby seats, Renter Protection service, One way Fees, GPS and fuel
may be subject to Premium Location surcharges, Administration and credit card fees.
