STUBBER CONVENT STUBBER KLOSTER
There is a distinct atmosphere around Stubber
Convent and the lake Stubbergård Sø. A sense of
simplicity and solitude that harmonize completely
with the entire convent tradition. The single building
preserved today is just a fraction of the original
four-winged convent.
Originally, the buildings were two storyes above the
ground but most of them were demolished in the
1800s and earlier on.
The fi rst written testimony about the convent dates
back to 1268, where the place was named
Claustrum Stubbetorp. It is unknown which order
of nuns the convent originally belonged to.
The convent however was taken over by the Crown
in the years after the Reformation
Eine ganz besondere Stimmung herrscht über dem
Stubber Kloster und dem See Stubbergård Sø. Ein
Gefühl von Einfachheit und Abgeschiedenheit, das
der gesamten Klostertradition entspricht. Das einzige
Gebäude, das heute erhalten ist, ist nur ein
kleiner Teil der ursprünglichen Klosteranlage, die
aus vier Flügeln bestand.
Ursprünglich erstreckte sich das Gebäude über zwei
Stockwerke, aber der größte Teil wurde im 19. Jhd.
und früher niedergerissen.
Das erste schriftliche Dokument über das Kloster
stammt aus dem Jahre 1268, hier unter dem Namen
Claustrum Stubbetorp. Es ist nicht eindeutig
geklärt, zu welchem Nonnenorden das Kloster gehörte.
In den Jahren nach der Reformation kam das Kloster
in den Besitz der Krone.
