HANDBJERG CHURCH HANDBJERG KIRCHE
The charming church in Handbjerg is situated on
top of a hill with a view to the Limfjord. The church
built in the late 1100s has one of the most beautiful
monuments in the country over the deacon’s choir
ringing of bells. If you take a closer look above the
place where the deacon’s door was placed, you will
fi nd a half-circle shaped carving where the small
bell’s suspension was based. The ashlars-built
communion table contains a tomb of a saint. The
two small paintings in the church are probably panels
from a disappeared chair from a large establishment.
Die einnehmende Kirche in Handbjerg liegt auf eine
Hügelspitze mit Aussicht über den Limfjord. Die
Kirche stammt aus dem Ende des 12. Jahrhunderts
und hat eines der schönsten Denkmäler des Landes
zum Chorglockengeläute des Diakons. Schaut
man genauer über der Stelle, an der die Diakontür
platziert war, nach, entdeckt man einen halbbogenförmigen
Aushau, wo die Aufhängung der kleinen
Glocke verankert war.
Der Altartisch ist aus Quadersteinen gemauert und
enthält ein Heiligengrab. Von den zwei kleinen
Gemälden in der Kirche wird angenommen, dass
sie Füllungen eines verschwundenen Herrschaftsstuhls
waren.
