The Schloss Nordkirchen created in the early 18th century is considered
to be the most significant grand baroque complex in Westphalia.
The park at the castle and at the “Oranienburg“ was once
among the most beautiful in Europe. Eminent figures in European
garden design contributed to the creation of the park, including
the architect Johann Conrad Schlaun, the garden designer Maximilian
Friedrich Weyhe and the French garden architect Achille
Duchêne. The Schlosspark Nordkirchen is the anchor park of the
EGHN-Garden Route Münsterland.
Le Schloss Nordkirchen datant du début du 18ième siècle compte
parmi les plus importants domaines seigneuriaux baroque de Westphalie.
Le parc de ce château entouré d‘eau et de „l‘Oranienburg“
faisaient autrefois partie des plus beaux d‘Europe. De grandes
personnalités de l‘histoire paysagiste d‘Europe ont contribué au
développement du parc. Entre autres l‘architecte Johann Conrad
Schlaun et les architectes paysagistes Maximilian Friedrich Weyhe
et le français Achille Duchêne. Le Schlosspark Nordkirchen a été
choisi comme château emblème des routes des jardins EGHN de la
province de Münster.
