Chinese offspring explores
GermanTechnologies
In July, fifteen water and waste management students from China visited
Aachen University. This was hosted by the faculty of environmental engineering
(ISA). ISA offers lecture series at two Chinese universities in water and
waste management – a project supported by the Ministry of Education. Chinese
students shall become precursors of German Technologies in Chinese
water and waste management. The ISA lectures are offered at the most significant
university of China, Tsinghua University in Beijing, which is also a
partner university of the RWTH Aachen, and at Sichuan University in Chengdu
in the West of China. The two lecture series are imbedded in two master
programs of study. The visit to Aachen University represented the end of the
lecture series for the five best students of the year. Amongst other things the
students visited water supply, sewage treatment and waste management systems
as well as various other water services and companies.
