HS Austria“ auf die Rosenburg. In einem Workshop wurde noch eine Friedensfahne für die Friedenskonferenz gemalt. HOL Elisabeth Sohm EF Language Course in Bournemouth September 28th – October 4th, <strong>2008</strong> Sunday, September 28th The first day was the longest day of our language course in Bournemouth. I had to get up at 3 o’clock in the morning because we met at 4.15 for going to Vienna airport by bus. Our plane took us to London Heathrow, the biggest airport in London. Then we met Henning, who was our leader for this week. He was a very attractive charming young man. He had planned a “treasure hunt” for us. Some tasks were really funny and we enjoyed doing them. BE BRAVE! Walk down to the water and take off your shoes and socks…walk in the sea so that water is at knee level. Take a picture. KISS! KISS! Find a local boy or girl and select one member of your group to give them a kiss. Take a photo of it. SQUEEZE IN! 52
HS There are lots of public phone booths in Bournemouth, your task is to try to get as many members of your group into the phone booth as possible. Take a picture (2 points for each member inside). In the evening a taxi took me and my friend to our host family. We got to Monday, September 29th We got up at seven o’clock, had an English breakfast (tea with milk, cornflakes, toast with butter and jam) and were taken to school by our host father. At school we had to do a test so that we could be taught English at our levels (elementary, intermediate, advanced). After the test Henning took us to the city of Bournemouth with all the lovely shops, to the beautiful parks and to the beach, which we really enjoyed. On this day we had six lessons but it was okay. The teachers were very nice and friendly. The problem was that we had to speak English all the time. know our host mother, our host father and their fourteen-year-old boy, who tried to speak German with us. At eight o’clock we went to bed – we were dog-tired. Theresa Leuthner (4b) Our teachers said, “If you speak German you will have to stand up and sing a song.” After school my friend and I had to go “home” by bus. We got off the bus, lost our way because all the houses looked the same to us. Somehow we managed to find our way home. Lisa Pichler (4b) Tuesday, September 30th We didn’t sleep well that night. There were so many things that were new to us. The beds made strange noises. When we came into the kitchen to say good morning there wasn´t anybody waiting for us. Half an hour later we had breakfast, had to run to the bus station to get to school. That morning we had only four lessons. After lunch at school we went to Brighton by bus. We visited the museum in the Royal Pavilion, went window shopping in the town, bought something to eat and went to the pier there. It was very windy. We had to stand close to each other so as not to be blown into the sea. On our ride home we had a lot of fun on the bus, singing songs, making jokes and having to speak English all the time.
