turkey: In August a contract was signed
for the set-up of a new business corporation
between the Turkish family enterprise
Kalebozan Metalurji AS and the Rhomberg
Bahntechnik Holding Gmbh in Ankara.
Rhomberg-Kalebozan is the youngest subsidiary
of the internationally active Rhomberg
Bahntechnik Group and will be led by
DI Hubert Rhomberg, Ing. Oswald Ortner
and Dr. Halit Kalebozan, who will manage
the operative side of the business in Turkey.
Kalebozan A.S. was set up as a family firm
in Ankara in 1996 and over the past few
years it has established itself as a successful
Turkish railway engineering company in
commercial and mechanical track construction
as well in the welding and electro-mechanical
equipment sectors.
The fusion of both enterprises not only
means an extension of responsibilities
but also a strong entrance into the rail
way engineering market and a long-term
strategic orientation towards international
competition with the Rhomberg
Bahntechnik Group’s extensive portfolio.

Das Projekt in Malmö stellt einen weiteren
Meilenstein im dynamisch wachsenden
Raum zwischen Kopenhagen (DK) und
Malmö (SE) dar. Die beiden Städte wurden
2000 mit der Öresundbrücke verbunden,
der weltweit längsten Schrägseilbrücke für
kombinierten Straßen- und Eisenbahnverkehr.
Die Rhomberg Gruppe trägt mit dem
Bau der zwölf Kilometer wesentlich zur optimierten
Verbindung der zwei Städte bei.
Federführend wird das Projekt von Bankverket
Produktion (SE) abgewickelt. Es
umfasst neben der Festen Fahrbahn noch
5 km Schotterstrecke, den Bau der Fahrleitung,
die Elektromechanische Ausrüstung
sowie weitere begleitende Maßnahmen zur
bahntechnischen Ausrüstung.
Die Auftragssumme liegt bei rund 400 Millionen
SEK (41 Millionen Euro).

Der Einbau der 12 km Festen Fahrbahn
stellt das Herzstück des Projektes dar und
schlägt sich in 50% der Gesamtkosten nieder.

(Sweden).
The project in Malmö represents a further
milestone in the dynamically growing region
that lies between Copenhagen (DK) and
Malmö (SE). Both cities were joined with

the Öresund Bridge in 2000 which is the
world’s longest cable-stayed bridge for both
road and railway transport. By constructing
twelve kilometres of slab track, the Rhomberg
Group will make a substantial contribution
to the optimization of the connection
between the two cities.
Bankverket Produktion (SE) holds primary
responsibility for the project. In addition to
the slab track, the venture also entails a
5 km of ballast substructure, construction of
overhead contact lines, electro-mechanical
equipment as well as further accompanying
measures concerning railway engineering
equipment. The sum of the contract
amounts to around 400 million SEK (41 million
Euro).

Casting the 12 km slab tracks in concrete
constitutes the heart of the project and accounts
for 50% of the overall costs of the
venture. Rhomberg Bahntechnik GmbH
was able to convince the awarding authority
with its specialist knowledge and master
plan and now carries sole responsibility for
the casting of the tracks.
Construction of the slab track starts in May
2009. Completion of the project is scheduled
for the summer 2010.
