Unesco Weltnaturerbe Dolomiten Naturpark Schlern-<strong>Rosengarten</strong> „Überragende Naturerscheinungen, Gebiete von außergewöhnlicher Naturschönheit und ästhetischer Bedeutung“ sind würdig, zum Welterbe erklärt zu werden. Wer den <strong>Rosengarten</strong> im letzten Abendlicht über dunklen Wäldern aufglühen sieht, versteht sofort, warum die Dolomiten wegen ihrer landschaftlichen Einzigartigkeit sowie wegen ihrer geologischen und geomorphologischen Besonderheiten in die Welterbeliste eingetragen wurden. Ein wichtiger Aspekt ist auch die botanische Vielfalt von über 2.400 Pflanzenarten, die in den großflächigen Natur- und Nationalparks besonders geschützt werden.
