Aufbau der Gesamtproduktion
Wetzel Micro Products
Die Wetzel Micro Products hat die Verlagerung
der Produktion von der Schweiz nach
Deutschland erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Mit
einer Gesamtinvestition von ca. 14 Mio. Euro ist
die Wetzel GmbH Gröbzig (Deutschland) die
modernste Produktionsfirma für Spinndüsen
und Mikro Produkte weltweit. Die letzten kleineren
Investitionen werden bis August 2003
abgeschlossen sein.
Einer der großen logistischen Vorteile ist, dass
ab dem 01.April 2003 alle Produkte aus Gröbzig
direkt an die Kunden geliefert werden.
Das Vertriebsbüro mit den bekannten
Ansprechpartner bleibt wie bisher die Wetzel
AG Sisseln in der Schweiz. Ebenfalls bleibt der
Vertragspartner mit Rechnungsstellung die
Schweizer Firma. Lediglich sind die
Zollformalitäten der Direktlieferung aus
Deutschland zu beachten. Es gibt einige wenige
Ausnahmeländer, in denen wir unsere Kunden
Wetzel AG Sisseln in Switzerland will remain
responsible in general for sales, order processing,
and invoicing. In other words, the ordering
address for customers will still be Wetzel
AG Sisseln; however, orders will be subject to
German customs regulations.
For customs reasons, a few countries will not
only receive deliveries from Germany but will
also be billed directly from there. In these
countries the ordering address for customers
Within the scope of a presentation on the status
of femtosecond technology for the Hanover Fair
2003 and a contribution to a scientific journal
the VDI Technology Center produced a video at
Wetzel GmbH Grenzach-Wyhlen. In addition to
a basic presentation of the manufacturing
areas, filming focused on the potential of femtosecond
technology for the product range at
Wetzel, and particularly on a progress report
on the principles testing.
• In addition to structuring of hardened embos
sing rollers for stainless steel designs with
special optical effects, materials processing
of high-resolution structures is of major
importance. A further application being
tested is the drilling of spinnerets for chemi
cal process technology.
• Surface structuring of engine and fuel pump
components reduces wear in heavily loaded
components and increases efficiency. In prin
ting and embossing applications, processes
for structuring of functional surfaces can be
replaced or augmented.
of application in the area of material processing:
Femtosecond lasers will play a key role in the
future in the high precision processing of materials.
This change translates into benefits for all of
our partners:
• Shorter lead times by 2 – 3 days
• Reduced costs for transport and customs
processing
• Accelerated and thus more efficient ordering
processes (elimination of interfaces).
Wetzel Micro Products has successfully completed
its transfer of production from
Switzerland to Germany. With capital expenditures
totaling roughly 14 million Euro, Wetzel
GmbH Gröbzig (Germany) is now the world’s
most up-to-date manufacturing company for
spinnerets and micro products, with final minor
investments to be wrapped up by August 2003.
Already today, order and productivity data from
recent months confirm the success of this
initiative and provide an extremely positive outlook
for our entire team.
A major advantage of the transfer is that effective
