‘at eight’ Dresses Up for
the Evening
The latest idea for ‘at eight’ restaurant is simple, but effective.
Just like people like to dress up for the evening, ‘at eight’
changes its look and ambience for the ‘soiree’. From 6 pm,
at eight will greet its dinner guests in a changed and super
chic style.
Our Assistant General Manager Carl-Peter Echtermeijer
explains: “Every afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m., ‘at eight’ will dress
up for its evening guests. We’re creating an atmosphere for
dinner that is different and more intimate than the ambience
at breakfast and lunch needs to be.”
The Viennese event expert Jürgen Hirzberger came up with
the idea and concept for the new design and is responsible for
its implementation as well. “We’re dressing up for the evening
because we want to offer more to our guests. More surprise.
More style. More sex appeal. Before and after 6 p.m.,” says the
creative thinker and head of the successful Viennese event
agency Hirzberger.
Scene change: “Dressing up for the evening”
The scene change is relatively quick, but not without
excitement. At 3 p.m. in the afternoon, the blinds are drawn
at the restaurant so that at eight can get ready for the night.
It’s a scintillating sensation. “There’s a little peephole so
passersby can watch how the restaurant’s casual daytime
dress is transformed into a seductive evening look,” says
Jürgen Hirzberger. “The keyhole effect makes people curious
and it’s incredibly sexy.”
Mirrors appear, lamps are decorated, candles emerge and
are lit, and curtains create a romantic mood, an ambience
that harmonizes perfectly with the evening feeling.
The whole color palette changes as well. The fresh linden
green that is so befitting for breakfast and lunch guests makes
way for far more dramatic red and violet in the evening. The
secret behind the wow effect: colorful, tailored covers are
slipped over the chairs, instantly giving the room a different
appearance. The window seats get a nightly makeover as
well. Seat cushions made of crocodile print imitation leather
and nicely draped fabric rolls and pillows invite guests to relax
and chill with a glass of wine.
