zu dürfen. Einen besonderen Willkommensgruss richte ich an die<br />
Beachvolleyball-Teams aus aller Welt. Die attraktive olympische Sportart<br />
begeistert Jung und Alt.<br />
Ich gratuliere den Organisatoren in Luzern für ihr Engagement und<br />
schliesse Stadt und Kanton Luzern in meinen Dank ein. Lob und Anerkennung<br />
gilt auch den rund 300 freiwilligen Helferinnen und Helfern. Sie<br />
stellen sich uneigennützig in den Dienst einer guten Sache. Ohne „Volunteers“<br />
gäbe es keine Sport-Grossveranstaltungen in unserem Land!“<br />
Beach volleyball is a winner!<br />

Lucerne; and a very special welcome to the beach volleyball teams from<br />
all around the world. This attractive Olympic sport enthrals young and<br />
old alike.<br />
I congratulate the organisers of the Lucerne venue for all their hard work,<br />
and also wish to thank the city and canton of Lucerne for their support.<br />
And finally, I would like to express my praise and appreciation for the 300<br />
helpers who have generously given their services to this good cause. It is<br />
only with the support of volunteers that we are able to hold these major<br />

Ich freue mich sehr, Sie alle zu unserer diesjährigen FIVB World Tour<br />
begrüßen zu dürfen!<br />
In diesem Jahr beinhaltet die Tour fünf FIVB Grand Slams, drei Veranstaltungen<br />
der neuen Swatch FIVB Beach-Volleyball Major Series, sechs<br />
FIVB <strong>OPEN</strong> und ein spezielles Swatch FIVB Beach-Volleyball World Tour<br />
Finale in den Vereinigten Staaten. Ich bin sehr gespannt, wie sich die<br />
Athleten im Wettbewerb <strong>2015</strong> präsentieren – gerade vor den Olympischen<br />
Spielen nächstes Jahr in Rio.<br />
<strong>2015</strong> startete mit einer Reihe von neuen Partnerschaften für die FIVB,<br />
die uns in unserer Vision unterstützen, Volleyball zur grössten und bezaubersten<br />
„Familien-Sport-Unterhaltung“ in der Welt zu machen.<br />
Ich freue mich, dass in diesem Jahr Swatch als Titelsponsor für die<br />
Wettkämpfe der Major Series zurückkehrt, die auch von einer aufregenden<br />
neuen Partnerschaft mit Red Bull profitieren. Diese Partnerschaften<br />
werden dazu beitragen, das Programm noch dynamischer und<br />
anregender als je zuvor für Athleten und Fans auf der ganzen Welt zu<br />
gestalten.<br />
Die Tour umspannt 14 Länder auf der ganzen Welt und ist ohne Zweifel<br />
der grösste Beachvolleyball-Wettbewerb des Jahres. Ich bin sicher,<br />
unsere Helden werden elektrisierende Auftritte im Sand liefern und so<br />
versuchen, die zweite Gelegenheit zur Qualifikation für die Olympischen<br />
Spiele 2016 in Rio zu nutzen.<br />
Die diesjährige Tour wird uns alle von den Sitzen reissen. Ich freue mich<br />
darauf, zusammen mit den Volleyball-Fans weltweit, zu beobachten,<br />
welche Stars den Weg nach Rio 2016 schaffen - wenn dann alle Augen<br />
auf Beachvolleyball in seiner geistigen Heimat, dem Strand der Copacabana<br />
in Rio, gerichtet sind.<br />
I am thrilled to welcome you all to this year’s FIVB Beach Volleyball World<br />
Tour! This year the Tour includes five FIVB Grand Slams, a new FIVB<br />
Swatch Beach Volleyball Major Series of three events, six FIVB Opens<br />
and a special Swatch Beach Volleyball FIVB World Tour Final in the United<br />
States, and I am very excited to see what the athletes will bring to the<br />
competition in <strong>2015</strong> ahead of next year’s Olympic Games in Rio.<br />
<strong>2015</strong> was kick-started with a number of new partnerships for the FIVB<br />
which will help us in our vision to making volleyball the most engaging<br />
family sport entertainment in the world.<br />
I am delighted that this year the Tour sees the return of Swatch as the title<br />
sponsor for the Major Series events which will also benefit from an exciting<br />
new partnership with Red Bull. These partnerships will help create<br />
an even more dynamic and stimulating programme than ever before for<br />
athletes and fans around the world.<br />
With the Tour spanning 14 countries around the world, this is without<br />
doubt the biggest beach volleyball competition of the year, and I am<br />
sure our heroes will deliver electrifying performances as they take to the<br />
stage for what will be the second qualification opportunity ahead of the<br />
2016 Olympic Games in Rio.<br />
This year’s Tour will have us all on the edge of our seats and I look forward<br />
to watching each event alongside volleyball’s global fans as we<br />
anticipate which stars will make it to Rio 2016 – where all eyes will be on<br />
beach volleyball as it takes the stage in its spiritual home on Copacabana<br />
Beach.<br />
