Buseinquetschverfahren. Wir erreichen gegen Mittag unser
neues Domizil in Avignon. Der Tag lässt uns genügend Zeit
für eine etwas langwierige Besichtigung des Palais des
Papes, eine Ausdauerprobe, und für die berühmte Pont
d’Avignon, auf der wir es uns nicht nehmen lassen, im Chor
das dazugehörige Lied zu singen.
Um Mitternacht feiern wir Romans Geburtstag, bereits den
zweiten dieser Woche.
Erneutes Buseinquetschverfahren. Flamingos, schwarze
Stiere, weisse Pferde und ein zauberhaftes Sumpfnaturschutzgebiert.
Das Rhône-Delta, die Camargue. Wir alle
wagen uns auf einen Ausritt durch diese beeindruckende
Naturlandschaft. Die Pferde sind ruhig, nun ja, einige vielleicht
zu ruhig, und zeigen uns trittsicher ihre Heimat.
Die berühmte Pilgerstadt der Zigeuner, les Saintes-Maries
de-la Mer, erkunden wir in Gruppen. Der Strand und das
klare Meerwasser locken an diesem letzen Tag ebenfalls.
Unseren letzten Abend verbringen wir in Avignon, das wir
nun auf andere Art erkunden, als am Tag.
Letztes Buseinquetschverfahren. Schon um halb fünf am
Samstagmorgen fahren unsere beiden Busse ab. Die Situation
ist derjenigen am Abreisetag sehr ähnlich. Unsere
Betreuer, die Fahrer, sind wach, im Gegensatz zu uns
Schülern. Nachtaktiv. Eine gut achtstündige Fahrt zurück
nach Heerbrugg liegt vor uns. Um drei Uhr nachmittags
erreichen wir etwas zerdrückt, aber zufrieden unser Ziel.
Endet die Reise, wie sie begonnen hat? Müde? Ja und
nein. Müde sind wir auf alle Fälle, aber diese spannende,
abwechslungsreiche und sozial wertvolle Woche liegt
hinter uns. Die kribbelige Vorfreude war mehr als berechtigt,
jetzt hat sie sich in eine erschöpfte Zufriedenheit
verwandelt.
Project week
Bollywood vs Life in Real India
Klasse 3SeWe
We decided to spend our project week getting to know
India better. As one of our topics was Bollywood, we
decided to spend our week in the Berner Oberland, where
many films are partially shot. We found a house (Ruedihuus)
in Adelboden which we could rent for ourselves alone
which was great as we were only nine people and it proved
rather difficult to find a house that was neither too big
nor too small. We rented a little bus and Mr Büchler drove
us safely to our destination where we all settled into our
rooms, carried in our supplies and went shopping for our
first dinner. After that we had our first session, a little
lecture on India’s history and geography. (de)
The movies
We watched a movie each night, starting with Dilwale
Dulhania le Jayenge (DDLJ) on Monday. This classic from
1995 tells the love story of two young Indian tourists in
Switzerland. This masterpiece led us directly to Bachnae
Ae Haseeno which is a very recent (2008) copycat version
of DDLJ. The storyline is similar and the main character is a
huge fan of the original movie which creates many déjà-vu
situations. On Wednesday we diverted from our strict Bollywood
path and watched the more serious Lagaan dealing
with British colonialism. This movie is all about Indian’s
favourite sport: Cricket. Of course we then used our newly
acquired knowledge of this sport on Thursday with Mr
Büchler. On our last night we had had enough romance and
watched an action-comedy, Duplicate, once again with one
of India’s most famous actors Shahrukh Khan. We had to
find out that Indian humour differs greatly from our Mid-
European one and that we had probably watched enough
long movies for some time. (de)
As our week was called «Bollywood Week», we of course
had to watch some movies produced by the Indian Hollywood…!
Actually, we came to enjoy one every evening,
which was sometimes a little tough, especially for the male
half of us. The length of the movies (the longest one took
almost 4 hours, the shortest not much less) probably was
the main difficulty to stand, but besides this our evenings
in front of the self constructed screen were quite amusing
Also, we preventively covered the floor with mattresses
and generally had a short break after 2 hours in order to
recover.
It was astonishing how much Indians seem to like the Swiss
«skyline» i.e. the snow covered mountains and obviously
they found cow stables and cabins so romantic they decided
to put them into every movie we saw. Therefore we
visited some of the places used as film locations.
