A Cyanometer is an apparatusfor measuring the intensity ofthe blue color of the skyindicating the transparencyand the amount of water vaporin the atmosphere. Horace-Bénédict de Saussure (SwissNaturalist, 1740-1799) iscredited to have invented theCyanometer in 1789 during histrekking expeditions to theAlps.
