I am also happy to note that<strong>DIG</strong>, <strong>Kiel</strong> is celebrating its 50 th anniversary on the same day. Besides, it is hearteningto learn that the prestigious Gisela Bonn Prize 2013 would be awarded during theceremony and a rendition of Rabindranath Tagore’s poetry and songs would beorganized as part of the festivities.Since its inception in 1963 in Stuttgart, <strong>DIG</strong> has been in the forefront of promoting,understanding and awareness of India amongst German citizens through seminars,workshops, conferences, exhibitions as well as cultural and exchange programs.With around 34 branches and more than 3500 members across Germany, <strong>DIG</strong> isalso actively involved in many social and humanitarian projects in India. Besidesenhancing the people-to-people contacts, <strong>DIG</strong>’s manifold activities have contributedimmensely to further strengthen the long standing and cordial relations existingbetween India and Germany.On this special occasion, I would like to convey my heartiest congratulation andbest wishes to <strong>DIG</strong> und its <strong>Kiel</strong> branch.
