Whether consciously or not, Cecilia had let her furnishing
choices be inspired by the seasons: here the lightness of
spring and summer, there the darkness of fall and winter. It
was often the earth tones and natural materials that magically
drew her in: a cowhide rug, an iron basket appearing both
raw and elegant, a coffee table made of wire mesh, a tall
sideboard with wooden body and steel doors clad in natural
stone veneer. Steel, iron and silver were recurring materials in
Cecilia’s home, but her interiors never seemed cold. The form
and design of these objects were either too refined or too
extraordinary for that: take for example her Lambert cutlery
with their handles of oxidized stainless steel, which lent them
an note of archaic austerity, perfectly expressing the dynamic
tension that typified Cecilia’s personality.

Without a doubt, Pablo found his younger cousin simply enchanting.
Enchanting and successful. But was this a life for a
woman? Crossing half of Europe to live in Barcelona, all by
herself in a big house? Pablo was firmly convinced that there
needed to be a man who occasionally looked in on Cecilia.
So what could be done but for him to do it himself? However,
he did this gladly.
Above all, Pablo loved sitting with Cecilia on her shady terrace.
He spoke a bit about their relatives while Cecilia listened with
a smile. However, Pablo was sometimes overcome with fear
that the fine wicker armchairs couldn’t support his weight for
very long, since his love of good eating was clearly evident
on his body. Of course, his fears were unfounded – the armchairs
were of very solid construction, as Cecilia had always
insisted on quality. Pablo also admired his cousin’s talent for
transforming the summer terrace into a winter sanctuary with
just a few accessories. A cozy fur blanket, a light cowhide rug
and a couple of candle lanterns were all that Cecilia needed
to create this winter magic.
