Luftverschmutzung, Wasserknappheit, das Abholzen der Wälder, Verlust der Artenvielfalt,<br />
Klimawandel: Diese vom Menschen verursachten Umweltprobleme gehen uns alle an.<br />

einnehmen? Die Ausstellung [ESCAPE] hat diese Fragestellung aufgegriffen und in zwei von<br />
Virgílio Ferreira, Krzysztof Candrowicz und Christian Barbe organisierten Workshops eine<br />
Gruppe von Künstler*innen zusammengebracht, um mit ihnen künstlerische Erfahrungen<br />
auszutauschen und zu diskutieren. Ziel war es, die eigene künstlerische Praxis zu hinterfragen<br />
und die Diskussion über Kultur, Nachhaltigkeit und Ökologie voranzutreiben. [ESCAPE] ist<br />
ein Projekt mit offenem Ausgang. Es geht nicht nur um eine kritische Bestandsaufnahme,<br />
sondern soll auch zum aktiven Handeln anregen.<br />

[ESCAPE] – ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES<br />
AND ECOLOGICAL EMERGENCY<br />
Air pollution, water scarcity, deforestation, loss of biodiversity, climate change: these<br />
human-caused environmental problems are all of our concern. But what role can artists<br />
play in the face of the pressing problems of our time? The [ESCAPE] exhibition has taken<br />
up this question and based on two workshops, coordinated by Virgílio Ferreira, Krzysztof<br />
Candrowicz and Christian Barbe, that brought together a group of artists to exchange<br />
experiences and contents. The aim was to question the artistic practice and promote the<br />
discussion on sustainable cultures and environmental issues. [ESCAPE] is the beginning<br />
of an open-ended project which should not only be interpreted as critical evidence but<br />
also as an invitation for action.<br />
