Radfahren ist im Trend. Radfahren macht nicht nur
Spaß, es ist umweltfreundlich und hält fit. Unsere
Stadt will zukünftig noch viel für die Attraktivität
des Fahrradfahrens machen.
Fahrradfahren ist aber auch ein faszinierender
Spitzensport. Deshalb freuen wir uns in Koblenz
auf den Start der Deutschland Tour.

Cycling is one of the biggest trends nowadays.
Cycling is a fun and sustainable mobility solution
and good for your health. Our city will continue to
invest and develop new measures to increase the
attractiveness of cycling.
Cycling also makes for a fascinating competition.
For all of these reasons we are very much looking
forward to the start of the Deutschland Tour in
Koblenz.

Koblenz, die (Rad)Sportstadt
Koblenz, die Stadt am weltberühmten Deutschen Eck, ist eine
sportliche Stadt. Rund 140 Sportvereine mit mehr als 43.000
Mitgliedern üben in 280 Sportstätten etwa 90 Sportarten aus. Koblenz
ist auch im Radsport keine Unbekannte. Die Rhein-Mosel-Stadt ist die
Heimat eines Profi-Teams und eines namhaften Fahrradherstellers.
Ferner konnte man 1992 die Tour de France in Koblenz willkommen
heißen. Seinerzeit wurde Koblenz als bester Etappenzielort mit dem
Gelben Trikot ausgezeichnet.
In 42 Jahren ist die Stadt Koblenz über 20 Mal Etappenzielort oder
Ausrichterstadt der Internationalen Rheinland-Pfalz-Rad-Rundfahrt
(letztmalig in 2007) gewesen. Und auch die Deutschland Tour nutzte
die Stadt am Deutschen Eck als Start oder Ziel einzelner Etappen.
Daher ist man in Koblenz sehr erfreut, dass die Neuauflage der
Deutschland Tour wieder mit ihrem Namen verbunden ist.
Koblenz, the (cycling) sports city
Koblenz, the town located at the world-famous Deutsches Eck, is a
sports town. Approximately 140 sports clubs with over 43,000 members
play approximately 90 types of sports in 280 sports facilities all over
the city. Moreover, Koblenz is a cycling city with the headquarters of a
professional team and a well-known bicycle manufacturer. In 1992, the
Tour de France also took place in Koblenz. At that time Koblenz received
the yellow jersey as the best stage destination.
In a span of 42 years, the city of Koblenz has been the stage destination or
host city of the international cycling tour Rheinland-Pfalz-Rad Rundfahrt
for more than 20 times (last time in 2007). In the past the Deutschland
Tour already used the city of the Deutsches Eck as the starting or
finishing point for several stages. Koblenz is therefore delighted that the
new edition of the Deutschland Tour is once again associated with its
name.
