Fünf Schritte in Ihrer
Digitalen Transformation
Digitale Technologien sind der Schlüssel zur Energiewende.
Sie eröffnen der Energiewirtschaft und
ihren Kunden eine Vielzahl an Möglichkeiten. Laut
Internationaler Energieagentur verbessert „Digitalisierung
Jedoch
bringen zahlreiche Digitalisierungsprojekte nicht die
erhofften Ergebnisse und Veränderungen. So stellt
Technologien steigern?
Das Institute for Manufacturing, Education and Consultancy
Services (IfM ECS) der University of Cambridge
Schritt 1: Finden Sie heraus, welches Potenzial digitale
digitale Transformation verschiedene Interessengruppen.
Eine klare gemeinsame Zielvorstellung hilft
dabei, Unterstützung zu gewinnen und gleichzeitig
Widerstände und Risiken zu minimieren.
Schritt 4: Sobald Sie wissen, wo Ihre Organisation
implementieren Sie Ihre Digitalisierungsprojekte. Dazu
gehören die Entwicklung von Fähigkeiten, die Automatisierung
von Vorgängen und die Entscheidung, ob
Sie Digitalkompetenzen intern aufbauen oder Dienstleistungen
von Dritten beziehen.

Five steps to your

Digital technologies are key for the energy transition
providing energy sector, the market and
customers with a tantalising array of opportunities.
According to International Energy Agency, ‘Digitalisation
is already improving the safety, productivity, accessibility
and sustainability of energy systems’ 1 , helping
to reduce costs, improve efficiency and deliver value
across the entire value chain of the energy sector.
It’s no wonder ‘digital transformation’ pervades the
focus of strategic planning in many organisations –
no matter the size or sector.
Unfortunately, this is set against a backdrop where
many digital transformation projects fail to deliver
expected results – which leads to the question of
how can organisations get the most value from current
and emerging technologies?
IfM Education and Consultancy Services (IfM ECS)
at the University of Cambridge has developed a fivestep
process that helps organisations to approach
digital transformation systematically. The Five
Steps bring together world-leading research from
the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) and decades of
experience in business support.
The Five Steps are flexible so that organisations can
benefit from IfM tools that are research-based and
industrially-proven, no matter what stage of the journey
they are at. The approach is technology agnostic;
instead it focusses on finding the right technology
that will improve business and operational activities:
Step 1: Explore the potential in technologies for your
sector, looking at how they are currently deployed,
DEFINE
WHERE TO GO
what their readiness level is and what could be the
most useful for your organisation.
Step 2: Having a knowledge base of different
digital technologies, you will then need to create
a business case for the technology and understand
the value it contributes to your business and the
wider ecosystem.
Step 3: The next stage is to define where to go, creating
your organisation’s digital vision. As with all
strategy-related measures, the transformation will
involve or impact several interest groups, so agreeing
a clear end point helps to gain commitment at the
same time as reducing the barriers and risks.
Step 4: By mapping out where you are now and where
you want to get to you will identify pathways for your
digital journey. This will address key aspects of your
strategy including external drivers, internal drivers
and capabilities to arrive at a blueprint for your
digital transformation.
Step 5: To achieve your digital vision, you will then
need to implement projects to which could include
developing capabilities, automating operations and
deciding whether you will develop digital expertise
in-house or source it from a third party.
