enjoy the best of each sector. With fresh and useful content, this guide will become your essential companion
for the next seven months. Finally, thank you to everyone who has participated, both by email and WhatsApp,
in our call for you to select or recommend your favourite restaurant or attraction so it could be shared with
all of you. The winners have enjoyed their dinners, and now we want to encourage you to continue being our

in the kitchen knows
perfectly well how to satisfy
the most demanding palates,
thus making exquisite dishes. For
starters, we liked the Parmesan aubergines, tuna
carpaccio or butterfish, fresh mussels ‘a la marinera’,
lobster risotto, fresh handmade pastas such as ricotta
and spinach panzerotti, as well as pizzas, fish of the day,
grilled meats and of course, typical Italian desserts such as tiramisu. The
large terrace facing the sea overlooking la Gomera and dreamy twilights complete
this wonder.

en La Caleta - Disfrutamos mucho de nuestra visita
a esta joya, TASCA LA VIDA y nos sorprendió su delicada
oferta, con una excelente selección de tapas españolas
y mediterráneas, perfectas para compartir. Tras
un refrescante mojito como aperitivo,
comenzamos con las deliciosas
sardinas ahumadas, seguidas de
las irresistibles croquetas de
jamón ibérico y pollo. La experiencia
gustativa continuó
con las gambas gigantes al
ajillo y las exquisitas koftas
de cordero. Cada plato es una
obra de arte presentada con elegancia
y detalle. El exquisito "Chardonnay
Ecológico Jean Leon 3055" español
fue el acompañamiento perfecto para
este maravilloso viaje culinario. El brownie casero con
salsa toffee, nueces y helado de vainilla y el merengue
con frutos rojos nos hizo literalmente salir agua de la
boca. El anfitrión Andy y su equipo son extremadamente
amables y nos hicieron sentir como en casa con amigos.

Our discovery of a small but fine highlight in La Caleta -
we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this little gem, TASCA
LA VIDA and were amazed by its delicate offerings, with
a tasty selection of Spanish and Mediterranean tapas,
perfect for sharing. After a refreshing mojito
as an aperitif, we started with delicious
smoked sardines, followed
by irresistible Iberian ham
and chicken & ham croquettes.
The taste experience
continued with giant
garlic prawns and exquisite
lamb koftas. Each dish
is a work of art presented
with elegance and attention
to detail. The excellent Spanish
"Chardonnay Ecologico Jean Leon
3055" was the perfect accompaniment to
our unique culinary journey. The homemade brownie
with toffee sauce, walnuts and vanilla ice cream and the
meringue with red berries literally made our mouths water.
Host Andy and his team are extremely friendly and
made us feel as if we were at home with friends. TASCA
LA VIDA, the little place with a big personality, where
they served us their heart on a plate.

erfrischenden Mojito begannen wir mit

Und zum Abschluss das himmlische Dessert, welches uns
buchstäblich das Wasser im Munde zusammenlaufen lies:
Ein hausgemachter Brownie mit Toffeesauce, Walnüssen
und Vanilleeis und das Baiser mit roten Beeren. Dank Gastgeber
Andy und seinem äußerst freundlichen Team, haben
wir uns wirklich wie bei Freunden zu Hause gefühlt. TASCA
LA VIDA, das charmante Lokal mit viel Persönlichkeit, wo
sie uns ihr Herz auf dem Teller servierten.

Juan Antonio Mateos Navarro, mejor conocido como “El Abuelo”, es un salmantino afincado en Tenerife desde 1992.
Apasionado de la restauración, logró a fines del siglo pasado convertir su pasión en su estilo de vida. Desde su
llegada a la isla y con el gran apoyo y colaboración de su mujer, Begoña Martin, han dedicado su experiencia a este
sector. Al abuelo le avala una dilatada trayectoria laboral, puesto que ha dirigido varios restaurantes en el sur de
la isla. Es a finales de septiembre 2023, cuando se le ofrece la oportunidad de dirigir su propia opción culinaria en
pleno corazón de Los Cristianos: “LA DESPENSA DEL ABUELO”. En este nuevo local, y junto a un arsenal de profesionales,
fusiona lo nuevo con lo antiguo, ofreciendo lo de siempre: una cocina de mercado con los platos de antaño.
Juan Antonio Mateos Navarro, better known as “El Abuelo”, is a man from Salamanca who has lived in Tenerife since
1992. Passionate about restoration, he has managed to turn his passion into his lifestyle from the end of the last
century. Since his arrival on the island and with the great support and collaboration of his wife, Begoña Martin,
he has dedicated his life to this sector. El Abuelo has a long career behind him, managing several restaurants in
the south of the island. It was at the end of September 2023, when he was offered the opportunity to run his own
culinary venture in the heart of Los Cristianos: “LA DESPENSA DEL ABUELO”: In this new establishment, together
with an arsenal of professionals, he fuses the new with the old, offering the same as ever: quality market cuisine
with dishes of yesteryear.
Juan Antonio Mateos Navarro, besser bekannt als "El Abuelo", kommt aus Salamanca, und lebt seit 1992 auf Teneriffa.
Er ist leidenschaftlicher Gastronom und hat es Ende des letzten Jahrhunderts geschafft, seine Leidenschaft
zu seinem Lebensinhalt zu machen. Seit seiner Ankunft auf der Insel und mit der großen Unterstützung seiner Frau
Begoña Martin, hat er all seine Erfahrung in dieses Lokal eingebracht. „El Abuelo“ kann auf eine lange Karriere
zurückblicken, da er bereits mehrere Restaurants im Süden der Insel geleitet hat. Ende September 2023 bot sich ihm
die Möglichkeit, sein eigenes Restaurant im Herzen von Los Cristianos zu eröffnen: "LA DESPENSA DEL ABUELO". In
diesem neuen Lokal verbindet er zusammen mit einem Arsenal von Fachleuten das Neue mit dem Alten und bietet das
