Protected Space<br />
To maximize the logo’s clarity and impact, it should always be placed at least a minimum distance from<br />
other type or visual elements, known as the “protected space.”<br />
A minimum area of 1 cm (0.39 inch) clear space must always surround the logo. The only exception are<br />
documents such as business cards and or small scale graphics (such as stickers, letterheads or other<br />
documents) that are smaller than post card size. Documents smaller than post card size require a minimum<br />
of half a centimeter (0.5 cm / 0.19 inch) clear space.<br />
