Wolfgang Nocke Praliné-Chocolade, handgeschöpft
Praliné-Chocolate, handmade
Um die Arbeit von Wolfgang
Nocke einordnen zu können,
würden fast zwei Begriffe genügen;
das Spiel und der als die
Inspiration auslösendes Moment
verstandene Spieltrieb.
Intellektualistischer Vorurteile
zum Trotz macht sich Wolfgang
Nocke die Verwunderung, das
Staunen, zu eigen und setzt ohne
Gewissensbisse die rosarote Brille
auf. André Breton hätte dieser
naiven Kühnheit und Selbst-
sicherheit sicherlich Beifall gespendet.
to categorise Wolfgang Nocke‘s work two terms would suffice; play
and the play instinct, seen as the trigger for inspiration. Notwithstanding
intellectual prejudices, Wolfgang Nocke embraces the sense of
wonder, of marvel and puts on rose-tinted spectacles without a hint
of conscience. André Breton would certainly have applauded this
naive boldness and self-confidence. After all, how did he put it? „We
should take a leaf out of this book; the wonderful is always beautiful,
regardless of how it is wonderful. Only the wonderful itself is beautiful.“
Wolfgang Nocke‘s career ran against the usual course of things. Many
improve their graphic form of presentation to develop an actual,
a-descriptive form; he started with geometrical abstraction in order
to counter the temptation of representational art. Nocke sees this as
an additional dimension of music detached from the plastic. On the
other hand it appears that this newly found wavelength is intended
to accompany a form of vital energy which rises above all defeatism.
In seiner leuchtenden Einfachheit
wirkt eine „weiße Magie”. Man könnte fast sagen, dass sich diese
leicht kühnen Farben in Geschmack, Geruch, Ton... verwandeln.
In seinen Werken kommt
in its luminescent simplicity a „white magic“ is at work. You could
almost say that these lightly bold colours metamorphose into taste,
aroma and sound…
in contrast to traditional usage, with Nocke „dark“ is no longer
„bad“. Rather night stands for the time of dreams, the unfurling of
creativity. in his works there is always an animal figure. Nocke’s cats,
elephants and fishes are not hieroglyphs in the sense of having taken
shape through mental habit; rather they are forms inhabited by a
familiar spirit, phosphenes, which have been intensely endowed with
a soul, intangible creatures of light.
goutiert. Kunstvoll ist ihre Schöpfung in der handwerklichen
Manufaktur. Kunstvoll ist auch ihr Gewand, das
– passend zum jeweiligen Geschmackserlebnis – mit unverkennbaren
Motiven von Wolfgang Nocke geschmückt
und ausgezeichnet wurde.
